“A little piece of heaven in paradise!”

My boyfriend and I have just arrived home from a round-the-world trip during which time we visited the South Island of New Zealand for a couple of weeks. And we stayed in some really nice hotels (4 star) but the Bellehaven Luxury Studio Apartments came out tops! We initially booked it because it was one of the cheapest on expedia but it turned out to be a real home from home. The decor in the apartment was clean and contemporary and much more than you'd expect from a B&B. Great attention to detail. And with the added bonus of a washer/dryer which is a must when travelling for that length of time. The owners were lovely and just left you alone to enjoy your stay in one of the most beautiful parts of the Island. It's also in a great spot with amazing views and a short walk down the hill to the town centre. Highly recommended. 10 out of 10.

“Spacious room, very well equipped but poor service”

We spent 4 nights at this apartment. The studio has a good size, it's almost like a 1 bedroom. The kitchenette is in a separate room, which is excellent if you do some cooking (plates, cups, cuttlery, one electric frying pan, etc are provided, free of charge). The room is equipped with a DVD player and you even have a few DVDs in the room. You also get a washer/dryer and they even provide the detergent for it. There is a full size fridge, too. And you get unlimited internet usage, which is really great. Not to mention the free local phone calls. The location is OK, however if you're planning to walk to the town centre and back, it really depends on how fit you are. There are taxis and buses if you don't want to walk. The 'continental breakfast' was poor, and we got it all on the first day (so by the last day the bread was no longer fresh, as you can imagine) - you have to brew the coffe yourself, but that's OK, because this way it's always fresh. Although sold as a serviced apartment, as long as we stayed there, it wasn't. Because it was really dusty, we asked for a vac and vacuumed it ourselves. We did not appreciate the fact that we had to re-use the towels for 4 consecutive days, either - of course, we had the choice of washing them ourselves. All in all, we can recommned this place, if you're OK with little service. For the right price - that is 30-40% less than we paid - , we wouldn't hesitate to go back.

“Great Location..........but”

Situated right on the lake in one of the world's most beautiful cities, Bellhaven is an ideal location from which to explore Queenstown and surrounds. The apartments are on the main airport to city road - 15 minutes drive from the airport and 5 minutes to the centre of the city. Bellhaven apartments are modern, comfortable and convenient, but the general service is a little lasse faire. The owners (and their children) are friendly, helpful and hospitable, although some of the attention to details such as the cleanliness of the room after servicing leave something to be desired, as does the restocking of basic provisions.
