Nearby Points of Interest
Florence Vespucci Airport (FLR): Approximate driving time is 30 minutes and distance is 40 kilometres (26 miles).
The airport is a short taxi ride from Florence, although it is also possible to take the half-hourly bus, which transports passengers to Santa Maria Novella Station, in the center of Florence. From there, a connecting bus runs to Montecatini.
Driving directions: From Florence Airport, take the Interstate A1 for Pisa and exit Montecatini Terme.
The best way to get around the region is by hiring a car. In Florence, buses serve the city centre; tickets can be bought at tobacconists or vending machines. Tickets are sold on a time basis - one-hour, two-hour or 24-hour tickets. Traffic is restricted in the city centre and parking is expensive, so the centre of Florence is best explored on foot. Taxis wait outside Stazione di Santa Maria Novella.
