“Gem in New Canaan”

We had five minutes to book a room and took a chance on Maples Inn because they had a two bedroom available. We are in Fairfield County for some months on a work assignment and had stayed at a large hotel for a week while looking for a home to lease. Returning from a vacation to Lake George, we needed to find a hotel pronto where we could continue our househunting. We haven't left! Maples Inn is charming, the front desk friendly and helpful, and the setting pretty. With a restaurant next door and downtown within walking distance, we feel blessed to have found an extended stay situation that is so cosy! Great hotel for families, businesspeople, and weddings.

Hotel (inn/bed & breakfast) is reasonably priced and very clean. Room is also comfortable, but bathroom is across the hallway (each room has its own bathroom, which is accessed by a key).

“Excellent value”

Cozy and quiet. Excellent breakfast. Friendly people. Easy walk to town. We liked it so much that we booked a second visit.

“good bargain and quaint hotel”

The hotel is very cute and clean. The television took a bit of figuring out but, in the end, worked well. My only tiny complaint was that there was no where to put anything. Otherwise, lovely stay.

“Recent Visit”

We stayed on a Sunday night. No one was around and there didn't seem to be any other visitors. The room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was clean and serviceable but located through a passage that lead us to believe it might be used by others. Breakfast was good..included cereal, bagels, fresh fruit, yogurts, etc. All in all a somewhat old property that has seen better days but very comfortable, clean and pleasant for a good price. We booked on hotels.com so got a discounted rate.

“The Maples Inn”

The decor was over the top. Our room was on the third floor,no elevator. It was tiny, no place to put or hang anything and the bed was a rock. They were nice about letting us change rooms, but the beds never got better. The second room was on 2nd floor and a little roomier. The hotel was in a good area, near town. The continental breakfast was good. The place was very clean. On the whole, it was disappointing.

“Strictly leisure!”

Too relaxed for anything but leisure stay! Breakfast was very convenient. Also close enough to train station to walk. Very clean and quiet.

“relegated to 3rd floor”

I booked through Expedia--there was only 2 other parties staying at the hotel, My guess is that there are 12-15 rooms; but I was sent to a TINY room on the third floor--no elevator and no assistance was offered by the very surly attendant. The bathroom was up a couple of very narrow stairs...very inconvenient. The bed was very uncomfortable. The carpeting was seedy..just very dank.
