“St Albans Thistle”

Hotel easy to find and conveniently placed for major rooads, motorways and getting into St Albans Itself. Room was clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. We used the gym and swimming pool on an evening and the staff in the leisure area were great. In fact all the staff were polite and courteous and were happy to assist wherever possible without being intrusive. Great place and would recommend as a base from which to explore St Albans and surround area

“Great!”

I stayed at this hotel 8 years ago and since then it has been refurbished to a high standard. We stayed in a deluxe room which was very modern and well worth the upgrade. There was plenty of parking and is ideal for exploring St Albans and the surrounding areas. We didn't use the restaurant,bar or leisure facilities as we were only there for 1 night. Check-in was very quick and the team were very friendly and helpful. The rates for this hotel are very cheap for the product and service received....would definitely stay again.

“Lovely Hotel!!”

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, clean room and really good leisure facilities. I would defo recommend and will defo be back!! Had a great stay.

“Good Stop Over”

Excellent Pool and Spa facilities. All the staff were helpful and friendly. Perhaps a bit busy with so many guests and events going on. Not enough air in the room made the room uncomfortably warm at night. Otherwise all good.

“Just an AVERAGE Hotel!”

The Noke Thistle has really nothing to recommend it except that the staff is friendly and the rooms are clean. The restaurant is average, the beds are hard and the rooms are small. There is no desk or work area, and wireless connectivity is unreliable.

“Paper thin walls”

The walls were paper thin. We were woken by the people in the room next door returning at 4am shouting and swearing very loudly. Really can't see how the hotel was awarded 4 stars perhaps the AA reviewers don't actually sleep there!

“Would NEVER stay here again!”

Just returned from a week long stay here. I thought I was going to be staying in a very nice hotel based on the information provided here. Here is just a list of items that were not satisfactory: - had dinner in bar/lounge on 1st night. My meal was wrong altogether and then once I did get what I ordered, it did not have any taste. My wife's so called caesar salad was just lettuce with what seemed like mayonaise. Yuk! - decided to try the hotel restaurant (hoped the food may be better), Wrong! Ordered a club sandwich and I swear the bacon was not even cooked. There was enough mayonaise for three sandwiches. We also didn't think that you could get a greek salad wrong (boy were we wrong) - no hot water in shower one day - the fire alarm woke us up twice - mold all around the bathroom window (they would not clean it) We spoke to the front desk hoping that they would address these items only to have the clerk more or less say `oh well, and here are your additional charges'. Normally I take things with a grain of salt, but this hotel was quite irritating. I would not stay here again and highly recommend others not to stay here either.
