“New, simple and conveniently located”

Used this as a 2 night Friday/Saturday night base for the motor racing (BTCC) weekend up at Rockingham/Corby. Picked it up at a bargain 2 night rate, given all the other Rockingham option hotels (best is HI Express in Kettering) were sold out. This hotel is reasonably new, hence clean and well laid out. Reception area / bar is nice, and staff are helpful. Rooms themselves were exactly what you'd expect for Ibis. Simple, very clean and up to date. Hotel itself seemed quiet for a weekend, little risk of weddings or parties due to location (residential). There is a McDonalds next door (free wifi, if you don't want to pay £9.99 a day in the hotel), and there is a sizable / nice looking pub opposite, which serves a variety of pub classics around £8-9 main course price. Good for just a drink if not eating. Location is ideal for the road network. Its 50 metres from a roundabout of the Wellingborough ringroad (easy links to Kettering and Corby to the north) and the main road out to the M1 (national limit all the way). To me this is convenient located business hotel for an easy overnight stay mid week, hence very quiet on weekends so don't overpay. For business, note there are some traffic queues (+10 mins) to the roundabout at rush hour (we arrived 5pm Friday), but nothing too bad.

“Good basic hotel”

A good basic hotel with clean facillites. Set back from the road and quiet. Very well used bye buisness men. The breakfast very continental but good at 5 pound a head. Across the road is a very good pub which does very good meals at reasonable cost.

Good value for money. Bed very comfortable. Easy access to major roads. Plenty of parking. Will definitely stay again.

“Convenient to santa pod”

It was all very basic but clean, it served it's purpose. We only had breakfast which was all there but again basic... We ate at the pub opposite which was nice and a handy mc donalds close to. We had a good cheap deal so I wasnt expecting 5 star treatment..would use it again.

“Ibis Hotel, Wellingborough”

The reception area is very clean and tidy. The breakfast is very good and the dining area very clean and tidy. It is the actual rooms that let the hotel down. When we stayed recently in room no.6 the carpet was threadbare and stained. The grouting in the bathroom needed re-doing and the tiles on the floor had lifted as the shower sprays the water outside the shower area. There are always only 3 pillows in the room even though it is a double. There was thick dust underneath the TV stand. There is no toilet brush in the bathroom. There is no waste paper basket in the main room. There is only one comfortable chair.

“Ibis Wellingborough”

Staff were great - polite and helpful. Facilities disappointing - there is no point having a pool table with only one mini, and broken, cue. Particularly when games are £1 a time. Bedroom was good Bathroom had loose floor tiles and only one set of towels despite two people booking into the room
