“Take me back to that stressfree place.”
No TV, no phones not even a room key! Wonderful place to just relax & be as active or in-active as you want! Counting the days to go back!!
“A must see. This one is very special.”
This is an expensive resort, but well worth it. My husband and I would like to come back here for future anniversaries.
“counting the days until we can return!”
Do yourself a favor and go to this resort. We flew direct to Kona and then took a taxi 6 miles to the Village. We never left once we were there...no reason too. Snorkeling right there was amazing, turtles swimming everywhere...manta rays right there, hammocks outside of every Hale, coconuts galore......the real deal. This is a true Polynesion resort and the most relaxing vacation I have ever had. Equally great for kids and teens. The all inclusive deal is very worthwhile and food is great. The staff was friendly and very helpful and polite.......especially Chad the bartender at Talk-Story Bar! I cannot say enough about this place and I have traveled and vacationed in alot of places. This will now be a yearly tradition.
“Amazing grounds, very helpful staff, gorgeous accomodations, yummy food”
Can't say enough good things. Staff was so accomodating and the surroundings were breath-taking. I didn't want to leave!
“Koa Villiage Exceeded Expectations”
Went there for our honeymoon and can't wait to get back out there.
“Awesome!”
Our stay was Awesome! We are difinitely going back again. The room was quiet and relaxing.Walking along the many paths(that were lighted by tiki torches)was so relaxing and romantic. We did have to get used to the fact that you cannot lock your room when you leave. You can only lock it when you are inside. They do give you a"Safe"to put your valuables in.The staff was helpful except is you went to the concierge(they only wanted you to do the events that they had and didn't help if you wanted info about other places). The food was good and there was alot of it.Even though this place was all inclusive, they expect that you pay a 15% tip to everything you do there. The tip is based on the price they apply to all meals and events. In my opinion the price that they put on the meals was outrageous. We went to the store and bought alcohol because the drinks were not inclusive and were very expensive.Good outweighs bad and this resort is pretty awesome. There are turtles resting on the beach daily. At night there's a light facing the ocean waters and manta rays swim up to eat. There were eels and other marine life swimming around too.The staff rides around on little golf carts to deliver things you may need or to take you to your room. There are no phones in your room so if you need something you have to write a note to the house keeper or walk to the front(there's not always a golf cart driving by).The atmosphere was awesome. We are definitely going back.
“hawaiin paradise”
everything is perfect about this place. drinks are not included so be aware, but i assume that is to keep spring breakers away and to keep the atmosphere perfect. you might want to do some shopping for necessities and luxuries outside of the village shop as things are pretty inflated but the place is great. we went for 4 days of our honeymoon and thought that was perfect.
“best relaxation ever”
This place is not cutting edge fancy, but that almost seems sacrilege to say. The ultra-low density, individual units, mellow staff, lack of TVs/phones/AC makes this the calmest, most relaxing place I have ever been. Yes, the rooms need some updating, but that still does not drop my opinion of them from the very top. We were the only people at the resort, it seemed, who had been there fewer than 10 times; some were on their 40th visit or more. I hope to become one of them and plan to go back at least annually. Food is among the best I've had in Hawaii. Beach activites are wonderful. But the real genius of the place is that the tone is so darn tranquil you can't help but unwind and feel better.
“Got what I wanted!”
I needed to 'un-plug'...and I did. My son, five, also managed to do fine without the electronic gizmos that are part of our home life. I love the hale concept, the all-inclusiveness, especially the snorkel shack. Hawaii, the Big Island, and the Kona Village is not for everybody. But it was perfect for me. I got back to nature, made friends, and made memories for a lifetime. To grow on: lot of walking, not the shiniest granite countertop (although I HATE granite countertops), the room safe I could not figure out how to work. This may bother some travelers... Where they excelled: snorkle, food, atmosphere, luau, and first-aid. My son got a lava cut. Everyone was amazing, and 'Uncle Jim' even had sandwich for us when we came home from E.R. after kitchen was closed. Keiki program was good, too. Aloha nui loa. Mahalo Kona Village.
“The Best Time of My Life”
Kona Village Resort is known for its lack of televisions, phones, and radios, but who needs them when you have paridise at your fingertips. The many various activities for all ages and levels will keep you busy enough, and at night you have a spectacular sunset to look forward to. You can easily spot sea turtles and manta rays swimming along the bay. You might even swim along with one. I had a truly wonderful time at Kona Village Resort. My only negative comment would be dinner. I wasn't in love with the choices of entrees for dinner, except for Paniolo night and the Luau's (those were Delicious!), but the buffet breakfast and lunch were always yummy!
