“Would love to go back again!”

The owners of this B & B were so friendly and helpful! Our room was very small but clean, we loved it!

“Please don't close, this will be a sad loss.”

A delightful bed and breakfast, although the street is a little noisy. Very close to bus stops.

“Neat place to stay, great neighborhood”

The folks at the desk were very helpful with bus routes to all the destinations I requested and helped me schedule a shuttle to the airport. The hotel was a little dated, but kept in great shape. Breakfast was standard continental fare. I'd never been in this neighborhood, and it was full of wonderful coffeshops, bookstores and retail. If you are energetic and have the time, it is actually possible to walk from this B&B all the way to Pier 1, though I find the public transportation to be more than adequate.

“Very pleasant”

The clerk at the fron desk was very helpful with information on what to do and how to get there. the rooms were small but clean. Parking is questionable. The parking lot was a block away and had a big, obviously not working boat taking up too much room for that small parking area.

“Edward II Hotel - MAY 2008”

The hotel is rather old and needs a little maintenance. The rooms are small but sufficient. Our bathroom was extremely small but it was perfectly fine. I would recommend the hotel to young people or to people on a budget. We were only there at night, gone all day, so it was sufficient. I would go back.

“Great hotel in Pacific Heights”

This is a terrific B&B/hotel for a leisure stay but I would not recommend it for a business traveller. The unique rooms are clean and comfortable, but the desks are too small for adequate work space and the wireless internet is completely unreliable. However, the front desk will provide an ethernet cable for DSL access. Every room is different and most have a small sitting area included. It is much more like a B&B than it is a traditional hotel and it is certainly a far cry from a major hotel chain. However, if that's your style, then this is a terrific find! Breakfast is offered every morning; cereals, muffins, variety of bread for toast, juices and coffee is great if you don't need a hot meal. The location is good for walking to several outstanding restaurants and shopping in the Marina district, or it's quick walk up to Union Street for super fancy shopping, or to the Exploratorium (great for kids and adults!). Most taxis appreciate it you mention that the cross is Lombard; it's unfortunate their front door is actually on Scott since most every one knows Lombard (the corkscrew part is way at the other end and a nice long walk).

“Overall good experience”

This hotel was small and neat. It was clean and the bed was very comfortable. There was some street noise as it is off of busy Lombard Street so we could not sleep with the windows open but otherwise OK. The free continental breakfast was good and the hotel staff was courteous. Parking was not an issue as we were able to park on the street after 10 pm and free meters on Sundays. The location was great and central to Fisherman's Wharf.

“Something different”

If you are looking for luxury - go elsewhere, but if you like to try something different and get away from cookie cutter hotels then this is a great place for that. The service is great and the beds were very comfortable. My only complaint is the parking - it was 1 1/2 blocks from the hotel down a dirty ally (and costs $12 per night). “Comfortable stopover”

Having had a failed booking in downtown we moved at short notice here and it was clean and comfortable, even ended up staying an extra night. Breakfast was more than expected and staff were really helpful. Can arrange an airport transfer too. Although not an ideal location, it is within 1 block from the No. 30 bus which heads straight past Fisherman's Wharf, through Downtown and down to Giants stadium so worked out great for us to get around really. Nice, relaxed neighbourhood.
