“Good hotel, and pleasant staff.”

We will definitely stay there again on a future trip to Jerusalem. The hotel functions well and the buffet breakfast included in the room rate is good. Also, the Concierge desk is very helpful.

“Outstanding location and a five star hotel”

The David Citadel is a great hotel in a fantastic location with views of the old city from some of the rooms and common areas. The hotel is located close to excellent restaurants. The Concierge's Desk provided excellent guidance for both restaurants and tours.

“meh”

Hotel was clean, although it seemed expensive for what the actual room looked like. Ive stated at the king david hotel before and for the same price, the rooms seemed nicer. Not a bad hotel, and in a nice location. Felt the dollars didnt go that far though.

“"A little over priced for what it was"”

The hotel was nice, great outlook and they gave us an upgrade and a bottle of wine, as it was our 25th Wedding anniversary. It was a busy hotel with tour groups of visiting Jewish people, quiet a few time we had people knocking on our door after we had gone to sleep, as they had the wrong room. The lobby and breakfast was always jammed up with people, as well as the hotel seems to be full most of the time. Concierge was great, but the service at breakfast seemed to go a bit wrong after it was moved down stair to the ballroom one morning without notice, some of the female waitress who were great went off duty over the weekend (management notice something was wrong and got onto it). Guest services was a bit suss at times with there service, they would ring to say they were sending an iron and ironing board up; 20 min later it still wasn't there. The bathroom was large and good and had good product for hair and skin. Breakfast was good, but it was impossible to get near the chief doing the eggs, they put on a second chief on our last morning there, but it was still impossible. Although we got an up grade with a bigger balcony and room the TV was in a difficult position and wasn't made to pull out and turn. I thought it was a little over priced for it was, but I guess you pay for the position and outlook.

“Absolutely appalling”

We checked in after midnight only to find that our room had not been properly cleaned. There were bits of chipped paint or plaster on the carpet, the floor in the bathroom had hair on it (you know what kind), and soap scum caked the tub. We called the front desk to change our room. Our request was refused, although we knew from the front desk clerk who checked us in that other rooms were available. The "duty manager" came to inspect our room. We again requested that our room be changed. He said he could not upgrade us. I explained I did not want an upgrade, only a clean room. Again, he refused. Instead, although it was now about 1:00 a.m., this duty manager had two other gentlemen come to our room to clean it. Another half hour later, the tub still had soap scum, and we had no other options. Over the next day and a half, we repeatedly requested of management some accommodation for this poor treatment. We were told three times that a report had been taken regarding our complaint and that someone would get back to us. No one ever did. We checked out of the hotel completely frustrated, with the mindset of never returning to the David Citadel.
