This luxurious resort is situated on more than 970 hectares (2,400 acres) of Costa Rica's North Pacific Riviera, 30 km (18.5 mi) north of the town of Tamarindo. Guest suites are set amid meandering walkways, lush tropical gardens, bubbling fountains, and ocean and jungle scenery. Highlights include two freeform pools, four lighted tennis courts, and an eco-friendly golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones II. A health spa, several shops, and an Internet café are also on site (surcharges).

Dining options include casual buffets as well as à la carte specialty restaurants, and beverages can be imbibed poolside, at a disco, or in a theater bar with nightly entertainment. A kids club offers a host of daily supervised activities, and adults enjoy a variety of classes such as yoga, Pilates, and water aerobics.

Paradisus Playa Conchal All Inclusive has two large freeform pools. One pool, available to Royal Service adult guests only, is fresh-water (without chlorine). The pool curves into three sections, with swim-under bridges, a spa tub, swim-up bar, and Bali beds. The other pool, open to all guests, is billed by the resort as the largest in Central America. It has three children's pools, a swim-up bar, island spa tub, in-pool volleyball net, in-pool basketball hoops, and a zip-line that runs from the activity center into the water.

A beautiful 18-hole, eco-friendly golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones II includes forested areas and wetlands. Golfers may encounter howler monkeys and iguanas.

Other recreational options include four lighted tennis courts; a day spa; a health club; all-inclusive excursions such as bicycling and kayaking tours and sunset cruises (subject to availability); and non-motorized water sports. All-inclusive classes may include cooking, wine tasting, candle making, flower arranging, tango dancing, yoga, and water aerobics.

A kids club offers an extensive program of supervised activities for kids ages 4-12.
