“Very satisfactory”

I think I saw a review from a person who said that the hotel was too far from the city centre - absolute nonsense: it's a ten-minute walk from the West End and Prices Street, or two minutes by bus stopping right outside the hotel. Back-facing rooms are very quiet with pleasant views over Fettes College and towards Leith.

“Quiet, Small Friendly Hotel”

Nice, comfotable hotel located a short distance from the train station. It is about 4 bus stops to the main center (or a 40 minute walk), and there are several buses which come every 20 minutes. The rooms were small but included the main necessities. The staff was very friendly. Standard continental breakast.

Hotel was in a good location and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

“Good hotel for a weekend break”

Hotel staff were very friendly and efficient especially so when there was a small fire in the early hours of the morning and we had to be evacuated. The bathroom needed updating - the shower curtain was starting to go mouldy and the sealant around the bath needed replacing as well. The room itself was basic but very clean and comfortable.

“Cheap, clean hotel close to the centre of Edinburgh”

This is a good budget hotel for travellers wanting to be close to the centre of Edinburgh. Hotel staff were very helpful and while the rooms were not fantastic they were clean and spacious.

“I got lost!”

The night staff were very unfamiliar with directions to the hotel and were unable to direct me causing me a huge delay in my arrival by several hours. The day staff were unable to direct me back to a main highway. Food was not available for later arrival.

“Interesting old hotel”

This hotel was a bit further from the train station than expected, and with it's age could use a bit of maintenance. Over all it was a decent value for the money. Walking distance to the castle, Princes st. etc.

Easy to get to and park at, but the traffic wardens are very active ! Put a parking ticket on your car as soon as you park. The ground-floor room was a bit noisy, due to a nearby air extractor, and the bathroom rather cold, but not bad value for money. The best feature is its location, just off the Queensferry Road, which makes it very easy to get to.

Well placed hotel. A little shabby, but good value for money.
