“Will definitely go back again”

Went for a spa break with my daughter, and had a lovely weekend. Plenty to do, swimming, sauna,gym, tennis and finished the weekend with a wonderful massage and manicure.

We stayed one night during the Cheltenham Literary festival, very glad we chose the Thistle. Comfortable double room with a good standard of amenities. The english breakfast set us up for the day. A pleasant stay all round.

This hotel is ideally located near major motor routes, has all the facilities required with friendly and helpful staff.

I used this hotel as a base for travelling around the area prior to representing Switzerland in the European Team Croquet Championdship.

We arrived in the evening and had to wait about 15 mins at the desk due to an overbooking of the hotel. Room was quite spacious and clean apart from the towel in the bathroom, which was dirty. Breakfast (included) was ok...English breakfast after all, so the usual expected. Staff in the morning was helpful and friendly, unlike the evening receptionist who had problems checking us in.

Paid an Expedia 'special rate' for 4 nights but very satisfied. Room was probably one of the last to be refurbished but even so very comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Only moan was that the room didn't get cleaned on the 3rd day but didn't complain.

“Dreadful service at breakfast”

Annoyed at having to pay to park the car whilst staying at hotel. Extremely slow and poor service at breakfast, lack of seating, had to summon waitresses to order hot food which arrived half an hour after being seated. Some diners gave up and left before receiving toast/tea. Suggest save money by not removing once only used soap in the bathroom and employing more waiting staff at breakfast. Otherwise rooms comfortable and clean and on-site health club good.
