“Not bad for the money”

Clean, sparse...the towels were worn and scratchy. Big shower! No frills, no thrills, right off the highway and just a few minutes straight into charming "downtown" Bloomington.

The towels were stained, the maid didn't make up the room, the hotel charged triple the rates posted in their lobby, and you could hear everything in the above room as well as the rooms on either side. When I asked about the rate I was charged versus the published rate, the manager laughed and said this is only one of two weekeneds where the hotels can charge high rates and he pointed out that he didn't screw me as much as other nearby hotels.

“Awful”

This is the WORST MOTEL that I have ever seen. My son goes to IU and I was attending parents' weekend. The Scottish Inns was the ONLY motel that was available. After the football game and a little tailgating, we checked in. Wow! I would not allow my dog to stay an entire night at this facility. The room was disgusting. I suppose that a homeless person would appreciate the warmth. Other than that...forget about it. After seeing the cigarette burns in the room and sitting on the rock hard mattress, I immediately went back to the front desk to complain. Unfortunately, in spite of the 7 minutes between the "check-in" and "check-out", I was told their policy was to charge for the room. I complained to American Express and received no satisfaction. My advice...if you are staying in Bloomington and can't find a room other than the Scottish Inn, sleep in your car!

The beds were lumpy and made up with a twin-size worn blanket turned sideways as the mattress pad, and sheets that did not fit and we kept ending up on the stained mattress. There were holes in the bedspread and curtains. Dirty windows... Birds built a nest in the sagging paint of the walkway roof just outside our room. Doors were warped with moisture. The pool still had the rules posted, however there was no pool available. There was a huge hole with a wooden support system under black bird netting type material. It was a nonsmoking room and smelled so much of smoke we had to go to the store and get Febreze. Next time we would stay 50 miles away in Indy and just visit Bloomington if there were no other place to stay. It was awful to see the hotel suite accomodations just across the street where there was nothing available. In comparison, It was like having a cold hotdog and everyone else was having steak~ Towels were tiny and rough. We had one-half roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. If there was a choice BELOW "not satisfied at all", I would choose it.
