Perfect! Right next to Kanazawa Station and the local bus line. The bus line directly to Shirakawago is right there too. Very friendly staff and easy to talk to in English or Japanese.

Great location if you want to visit Kanazawa and Shirakawa-go. Train and bus station are within 5 minutes walk. There are plenty of shopping to do within the station. All the key locations, castles and the likes are within walking distance (30mn). The travel center is very friendly.

This was a twin room, quite small but fairly comfortable. My biggest issue was the ridiculous step into the bathroom. It was very high and a genuine trip hazard.

Western guests need to know two things about this property. First - the laundry is located *in* the Onsen at the hotel. You *will* be in the onsen with naked guests if you need to use it. The staff manning the onsen reception will cause you embarrasment too by laughing at your discomfort - it felt the staff have an informal game of sending Western tourists in there without warning for the reaction. By marketing themselves to tourists, APA Kanazawa need to do a better job of training their staff in cultural awareness. Second is anything named "Eki Mae" in Japan means "near the station" - any hotel using that name is designed for businessmen. This is not declared anywhere on their advertisements. Accordingly, rooms are very small and aqkward for even modest suitcases. We also found the pillows uncomfortable and the air-conditioning lound relative to everywhere else we've stayed over our 3 trips to Kapan Hotel staff are genuinely hard working and will do their best to look after you - except for the Onsen staff who need training in international culture. Un short - strongly recommend that western guests do not stay here - the hotel should not market themselves to tourists and make their business model clear on boking websites. Do not make our mistake.

Good hotel close to station.
Small but clean room....with good and useful toiletries. Great breakfast. The only real negative was al the smoke in the lobby area which also filtered into the breakfast room.

The room was really small. We had trouble finding a spot to comfortably open our 1 medium sized suit case. The temperature of the room was really warm despite the air conditioner set to high. There was no digital temp setting, just on or off and fan high or low. The bathroom seemed outdated and the sink looked like it would fall off it's mount if I put any pressure on it. The shower water pressure was 7/10. The staff was friendly and could speak some english. They left us a bag with clean towels and water even though we did not want room cleaning...so that was really nice. We would not repeat this stay again.

very close to train station
This is a large hotel which is very close to the train station 3 min walk. The rooms are small but we chose a twin bed room which seemed to be bigger. The rooms are looking a little dated but are clean. There is a good choice of Japanese and european food for breakfast. The hotel does have two restaurants but are not cheap. There are a few restaurants in the station but there is a good selection on the 6th floor of the Forus store on the west side of the station (the other side from the hotel).

Book a big room

This hotel seriously needs updating. There are still hot and cold taps in the bathroom. The local area is great.
