Bienville house was a great stay overall! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful; we didn't go the onsite restaurant, but it smelled great when walking past! The bed was very comfortable, and the room was beautiful and nice and cool after a hot day outside. Our only issue was the shower pressure (not sure if because we were in the room equipped for handicapped or not and that is why the rain shower head or if all the rooms have that shower head too) - pressure was incredibly light. Also, our room was close to the parking lot behind the hotel and there was often loud noise in the middle of the night and I am a light sleeper; however, it was a one-time noise (like a truck starting up) on only two nights of our stay; not noise all night long). Overall, a beautiful property!

Good, but... Lovely boutique hotel with helpful staff and pretty courtyard. Located near Jackson Square, restaurants, and stores. But it's noisy! You hear people above you, next to you and if you're on the street, you hear lots of loud cars at night.

The Bienville House is beautiful; the room was like an old world dream with large windows, comfortable bed, and plenty of space. The staff is welcoming and courteous. And the rooms were cleaned every day. The Bienville House is conveniently located in the French quarter, making almost any excursion accessible by foot. This home away from home is worth the splurge!

I had previously stayed at Bienville House when they had recently remodeled. I was so excited to come back because location location location to Jackson Square however there were some marked differences this time which were disappointing. 1- the room temps remained a steady 73.5 and there was no changing that. I had a man come in to look with the same “I don’t know” answer that the desk staff had. Thank the Lord they had a fan or wouldn’t have been able to sleep. 2- there was only a chain lock and no actual door lock and I could see light from the hallway so although I felt safe- one swift kick and someone would have been in my room. 3- I was so excited to soak in the heated pool like my prior visit but quickly found the freezing cold pool absolutely not being entered. Staff were very nice, location was amazing for the French quarter, but these couple items were disappointing and prevented a 5 star visit. Last game changer would be to bring back the breakfast they used to offer. It was a bummer to not have that option available at this price point.

Loved this place. Beautiful and clean rooms, quieter area of French quarter, close to everything. Only one detail did not make it perfect regarding the temperature of the room being too hot and not being able to control it. I would definitely come back and stay here.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Beautiful rooms. Property is very old style New Orleans but very much like a boutique hotel. The pool area is gorgeous and lounge is nice. My only complaints is the plug outlet in the bathroom needs to be updated. The plug falls out. Its very loose. The other complaint but i understand the the location is the train. The train is very loud and will wake you up early in the morning. Other than that great hotel.

This hotel was vintage NOLA. First impression was was impressive. There was a bellhop ready for us to arrive, unloaded our bags, took them to our room and unloaded the cart. The staff at the desk made sure we were checked in and explained all of our options.The room was elegant! Very tall ceilings huge four poster bed, and a granit bath and shower.The price was reasonable. I would highly recommend the Bienville House and will definitely stay again on our next NOLA trip

There is just no AC in the rooms at this hotel. I read that in other reviews but ignored it. Expect a warm room. It was a good location for French quarter fest, but would rather stay in another area next time. Staff was friendly though.

The hotel is decent. Pros: Room was clean. Balcony was a nice feature. Bed was comfortable. Location was great for exploring French Quarter. Cons: There was an incredibly loud noise in the room that sounded like a helicopter hovering. It was also in the hallway. It took 10-15 minutes to get hot water in bathroom sink and shower. Incredible waste of water going on. Check in lady was not very personable. We arrived early and was told we were on priority check in list and would be called when room was ready. No call came, we were in area so stopped back by and found out room was ready. We love boutique hotels but this one will not be a repeat one for us.

Great location in the Quarter. Easy to walk to everything, easy Uber to and from the airport. Staff was excellent and friendly. Bed was very comfortable and room was clean. Highly recommend and will stay again!!

Love the room with the balcony although the one elevator broke down the hotel is nice and walkable to everything. Nice romantic older hotel. Front desk was friendly and helpful. The resturant ruby slippers is near for breakfast and Thaihey Nola that is literally next door is the best for Thai with a fusion meal. Will definitely be back!

The Bienville House was just what we needed it was right by the quarter, Canal and the market. Its small and the staff was amazing from everyone we came in contact with, this will be my New Orleans place stay going forward. The only issue was that i could hear that train from my room at night.

The best Beds and Pillows Ever! Very pretty decor. Convenient location close to everything. And the staff was excellent! Our valet Dwayne was helpful, and always had our car ready to go! Dwayne went above and beyond to make our stay even better. I would recommend staying here!!!

This is a historical property so keep that in mind that some things show their age. It was a very neat, historic hotel near everything in the quarter. We stayed with our two boys and it was close enough to the action but not too close to make it hard to sleep. All the staff we met with were awesome and had great New Orleans personalities!

Hotel is in a great location! Rooms are clean, though bed was not that comfortable. Did not realize that their standard room was interior, and had NO window. Was very off-putting. Courtyard is very cute, but small. Pool is neither clean nor heated. Coffee station available for a few hours each morning. Very good coffee, but you'd think they could throw a muffin or two out with it? and make up for the lack of elevator (always out of order) and pool amenity.

Our AC did not work in our room and no attempt was made to resolve the issue after it was reported twice. After speaking with friends that have also stayed at this property on different occasions, they had the same exact issue with the AC blowing only warm air. They will tell you engineers are not available to fix the issue and there are no fans available.

The room was large and comfortable. The bathroom was nicely finished. I was impressed by the helpful staff. The pool area was lovely. Highly recommend this hotel.

We’ve had the pleasure of staying at this property multiple times! You can definitely feel the sense of romance and nostalgia! We had a balcony room that was exquisite! The water pressure could be better but it’s not a “deal breaker” at all. We did have a problem with the a/c unit but it was as corrected immediately! Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to get to know everyone on a first name basis. That being said, I must give praise to Rasheed at the front desk! He was an absolute gentleman!! No matter how busy they were, he always had a smile on his face and was willing to accommodate! He even took the time to communicate with our pup! Our pup is an important member of our family whom we love immensely! So for Mr. Rasheed to genuinely take his time to interact with our pup was a huge plus!!! Bienville House is lucky to have him!! I’d also like to mention Dewayne! Valeting is a challenging job! He performed very well under pressure and was consistently engaging which puts guest at ease and makes them feel welcomed. I can’t recommend this romantic boutique hotel enough!! May I also add that the food, staff and cocktails are excellent at Lattitude, which is adjacent to the hotel!

Nice hotel outside of the noisy areas. Very friendly and accommodating staff. The standard king room is an interior room with no windows.
