“Would definitely stay there again!”
The hotel was great! We loved the location. The dining area with complimentary breakfast was excellent. We also enjoyed an evening meal there as well. The staff was helpful and attentive to our needs.
“Perfect location.”
We were on the water, two blocks from the palace and minutes walk from all else tourists wish to visit. Couldn't have been more perfect. Plus, the breakfast was wonderful.
“Old City/Gan Stamla - Charm”
This hotel, in the First Hotel chain, has a nautical theme. I'm not entirely into that, but the room was well appointed, the hotel centrally located in the old quarter steps from the Royal Palace, across the water from the National Museam, and a short walk from Cafe Opera to give you time to cool down after a night dancing. The room did not have air conditioning, but that is par for the course in most Scandanavian hotels, but I was hoping. Also, they had a nice spread for breakfast. The other marquee hotel that sits near the National Museam - i won't mention names -is overpriced...but this First Hotel is perfect.
“Perfect location; great view!”
I spent most nights just staring out the window at The First Hotel Reisen, Stockholm, watching the pleasure boats and tour ships glide in and out of the harbor. One night I stayed up late enough to be surprised by a spectacular moon rising. Lovely digs, honestly. A bit noisy with the busy street down below, but the view more than made up for the small annoyance. Stockholm is a beautiful city, and Galma stan is the best part. Loved the location because we could walk everywhere we wanted to go, including Skansen. It's very cool to have the Royal Palace right up the street along with many charming cafes and tons of great shops. Hotel does not provide wash clothes, guess it's not a Swedish "thing" - not sure. Oh! the hotel's breakfast spread is incredible. Plan to eat a lot, and skip lunch! Get there early to see all the breads, fruits, veggies, meats, cheeses, eggs, etc. at their prettiest.
“Very nice hotel, conveniently located!”
This was our first trip to stockholm. Not knowing much about the area this was a stab in the dark staying at the hotel reisen. It was a wonderful place to stay. Our superior queen size room was overlooking the sea. The size of the room was fine but the bathroom was a tight squeeze, but very clean. We had the breakfast buffet twice which was more than adequate, but very pricey. Most of the staff spoke english except for a few in the restaurant, but were happy to try and help you with anything they could. The front desk employees were very helpful and made our visit less complicated with their help, taxi etc. Oh one more point, the hotel was right next to the royal palace and just over the hill, was gamla stan, this was so convenient if you wanted to just go for a walk or have a coffee Would stay there again without hesitation.
“Wonderful Location overlooking the water”
Simply charming and this is Stockholm, not just any business hotel
“Great location, can't wait to go back.”
Good restaurants nearby, close to museums and the train station.
“A Good Place in Stockholm.”
This is the second time I have stayed here. The first was over ten years previous. It is centrally located. An easy walk to the palace, to restuarants, to the the harbor. The service is prompt and friendly in a Swedish manner. The rooms while being on the pricier range, are large, clean, comfortable and enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel to my friends. Taking self portraits with your digital camera of your reflection in the reflective interior doors of elevator gives you quick fun in 30 seconds or less. The breakfast area / bar is modern Scan design with an ample selection of Swedish and continental breakfast favorites. But it really is all about location at this hotel. Its hard to be more central than here.
“Perfect location”
This quaint, European-style hotel is on the harbor in the "Old City" (Gamla Stan), just a block or so from the palace, and down the hill from a wonderful square, where you can eat and watch. Romms, and especially bathrooms are a bit small by American standards, but tastefully decorated and comfortable. No coffee maker, but ther is a fridge/mini-bar. Upgrade to get a harbor view.
“enjoyed our stay”
The rooms are rather small by American standards, otherwise clean and comfortable.Love the hardwood floors. No bell man service but personel at front desk was extremely helpful and very nice. Good restaurant.
