Comfortable stay.
Really nice stay - had a family room (1 large room, total of 3 beds). Bathroom was clean, beds were comfortable, room was quiet and spacious. Nice closet space and great for our multi-day trip with kids. Staff was very kind and helpful. We didn't get breakfast, and used the fridge to store groceries we got nearby. Couple of great bakeries in walking distance and supermarket next door. We were on the top floor and did fine with the tiny elevator.

I stayed there for 4 nights. Check in and check out took one minute, staff very nice and friendly , the room was very clean , the location is great, metro and tramway are only few meters away, the area is nice with a supermarket frankprix and a lot of restaurants around

This was the most positive experience I have had of Paris hotels. The staff were uniformly friendly and helpful, and very forgiving of my poor French. I loved the location; it's an easy 10-15 minute walk from Cité Universitaire which is on the direct line from CDG. It feels less touristy so you're away from the crowds but it's very easy to get to wherever you want to go in Paris from here. As is standard for Paris, the rooms are small but pleasantly appointed.

Extremely helpful staff, very kind. Locating was very close to metro but quite a distance from attractions if ubering around. I was expecting a real bar based upon write up in hotel with hopes of relaxing and socializing but bar is really just the hotel front desk area. That said room was very clean and nice.

Wonderful experience!
I absolutely loved this hotel! Although not very close to main attractions, the subway is a short distance away and there are many restaurants and shops nearby. The hotel is clean and the beds extremely comfortable. However what I enjoyed the most about my stay was the wonderful service we received by the front desk staff. Aurelie, Maria and Jose Luis are absolutely wonderful! I will definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel.

Good location and service
Service of staff is good. There is complimentary drinks and snacks at the hotel lobby. The room is very small but well-equipped. Close to subway and tramway, supermarkets and restaurants. Good choice for holiday in Paris if the price did not rise up suddenly for a few nights.

Pros: Bed was very comfortable, and staff were friendly. Right next to the metro and grocery stores. Cons: Our bathroom was half broken. The toilet flush button would get stuck into the wall and the only way to make the water stop coming was to pick the button out of the wall with a plastic knife. Bathroom lights also did not work. The shower could barely drain, and if you took a shower longer than 5 minutes the water would start seeping through the glass door. Complained to the staff about the issues, and despite them saying they would look at it, none of the issues were fixed. Also on the opposite end of Paris from most tourist destinations. Overall: 6.5/10

Nice hotel, but double charged for city hotel tax
I've traveled to Paris for 20 years and stayed in 35 or 40 different hotels during that time. Hotel Virginia is one of the best values I've seen. The room and common areas were very clean. Hotel feels new throughout. The hotel is on a very quiet side street less than 5 minute walk from the Porte d'Orleans metro stop (line 4) and the Porte d'Orleans (tram 3a stop), making it very convenient. Room that I booked (lowest category) was small but made very efficient use of space. WiFi worked well and consistently on both my devices. If you're traveling during summer, be aware that the hotel not only has air conditioning, but a thermostat in each room--a rarity for Paris. Mattress was very comfortable; there are three grocery stores (Lidl, Leader Price, Franprix) less than 50 meters from the hotel. Also be aware that you will be asked to pay the local Paris city lodging tax (in French, la taxe de sejour) of 1,88 euros at check in, even if your room is prepaid through the booking website. This is not a scam; all hotels in Paris are required to collect this tax. This was the only problem that I had: the clerk asked me to pay it on checking in and I did because I was leaving two days later at 5.30 am. On check-out, a different clerk insisted that I pay the tax again. I protested but did not have a receipt to show, and ended up paying again after a brief argument. I sent the hotel an email in French to the hotel asking for a refund, but a week later still have had no response.

When we first arrived, they told us to wait a few minutes to check in so we went out for an hour and 30 minutes. When we got back the room still wasn’t ready and she asked us to wait 10 minutes so we did. Once the room was ready, she didn’t have the key and said she thought she gave it to us but she didn’t so we had some issues there. Once we arrived at the room, the people before us must have left the windows open and there were a lot of little flies in our room. The maid came and helped get them out for us when we asked them to get rid of them. After those 3 first issues, the stay was pleasant.

Wonderful gem in the 14th
Wonderful gem of a hotel! Spotless room, spacious for Paris, good shower and most of all the staff are exceptionally friendly, multi-lingual and staffing the desk 24/7. I recommend for anyone. The 14th has plenty of charm and it is a short / easy metro or bus ride to all the major attractions. Metro and bus are 1/2 block away.

Good!! Best connectivity to metro and bus station.
The best thing about this hotel is the connectivity. It's hardly 5 min walk to the nearest metro and the bus station. The hotel was very clean. Also, we had 24X7 hot water in the bathroom. The only downside I can think of is that the room is small and balcony mentioned in the feature list is basically a one or two lines of bricks extended from the window :) The hotel staff were very courteous and helpful with the directions and planning. We tried the breakfast for a day and it was okay. They also provide a large safe in the room which could hold my laptop as well along with other valuables. There's housekeeping everyday and the room was clean.
