“What a view!”

Hotel Vista Lago is a small and charming hotel with a magnificent view of Lake Como and the surrounding area. After what seems like an endless number of switchbacks going up the hill, you arrive at the top of the world. The service at the family run hotel was personal and friendly, and they were helpful with history of the area as well as things to see and do. A great breakfast was included in the price. We had lake side rooms with balconies (highly recommended) and could not have been happier. I would definitely stay here again if the opportunity presents itself.

“Amazing Views”

This was such a great find! Great views over Como, parts of the lake, a great mountain range, the Funicolare within a one minute stroll and all for a good price.

“Ride the Feniculare up the hill from Como”

The hotel is nested into the hillside like most of the buildings in this area. The balcony rooms have a nice veiw of lake Como. Church bells provide a 7AM wake up call with a 1 hour snooze button... The hotel is nice clean and efficient. Everything was clean and well maintained. Its a nice place to stay and do some hiking or cycling in the hills nearby, and the Feniculare provides quick transit to Como below. There is no wifi at this place or any place nearby. Cellular data does work but at slow speeds. Best way to get there is train to Como Nord and short walk to the Feniculare. The hotel is quite close to the Feniculare at the top.

“Hotel more like a B&B”

Did not expect too much and did not receive too much. OK for the cost.

“Beautiful Hotel, excellent view”

Hotel was beautiful and well maintained. We went on a lake cruise during our stay and ate a exclusive restaurant down the lake. Excellent service from the desk clerk went out of his way to assist us in working with a local cab company to bring us back since the cruise boat ended earlier that evening. The hotel is high in the mountains allowing an gorgeous view of the lake, Como and outlaying areas, but easily accessible by the cable car to Como.

“Would stay here again”

The hotel was very clean, and my single room had an adorable balcony area overlooking a church. The room was not large, but it was a single room in europe so I didn't expect it to be, and there is only wifi in the common area (although you might have been able to connect in your room if you had a computer via cable). Those were the only negatives, and they weren't enough to outweigh the great price.. The staff was very nice, the breakfast was good, and the bathroom and room were spotless. I took my bag and it was a very short walk from where the funicular stopped, less than five minutes. I would definitely stay here again.

“Hotel Vista Lago”

People there were friendly by had 3 disappointing items: 1. The Funi was closed for maintenance and we needed to take a bus to the top. The bus stop was lower requiring a very tiring carrying of our luggage. 2. The Hotel was closed from breakfast until 2 PM. We arrived before 2 PM to find locked doors. - Very scary until someone walked up and unlocked the doors at 2:00 while we on the phone to expedia. 3. The restaurant was closed for dinner.

“No AC and nickle & dime fee for TV remote control”

Room was very small and hot on arrival. Their is no air conditioning!!! When we arrived, a TV remote control was given to us with the room key. When checked out, we were charged 3 Euros for use of the TV, though we did not use it. Since we had the remote control, the management said we had use of the TV, though we did not ask for a TV. When we ask for the 3 Euros to be returned, only 2 Euros were returned. Not wanting to be nickle and dimed any more, we just left it at that. Nevertheless, the view was fantastic.
