Great base for seeing Tuscany
A lovely relaxing stay at the Il Molendino B&B. The beautiful property is located well for easy car travel to see Lucca, Pisa and with a 'have car and map mentality' it is easy accessible for Florence, San Gimignano, Volterra, Siena, Monteriggioni etc. We travelled as a couple with our 3 yr old daughter (British with husband that speaks Italian). Fabiola and Stefano are very welcoming and were happy to accommodate our Dtrs allergy needs where possible. We stayed in the Pietraia suite as it was our anniversary, which has a romantic traditionally styled feel with seating area and wood burner. Breakfast had a good selection always with a Fabiola home baked Italian cake - forget the waist line as they are delicious!!! If you want a special meal def recommend Ristorante Il Coventino - it has beautiful views outside and the food was fantastic. On our return home even our house flood couldn't take away what a lovely break we had!!

Unique place
The house is from the 13-th centiry. So it is an unique experience. It is in a quiet village. Ypu can enjoy the nature there. The hosts are fantastic. It is a very magical, calm, relaxing place.

Absolutely Charming
Perfect location. Old flour mill converted to a B&B set by the creek and an olive grove. Owners are lovely friendly people. Room was very clean and well apppointed. This was our favorite location on our 9 day tour of Northern Italy.

Rural charm a short drive from Pisa
Fabiane and Stefano were relaxed hosts, happy for us to picnic in the romantic gardens full of birdsong, roses and jasmine hedges in May. The breakfast kitchen provides a fridge, electric kettle, boxes of tea and crockery for use during your stay. Plenty of local walks from easy to challenging. Highly recommended.

Amazing place!
This was our favorite place during our 10-day trip to Pisa/Florence/Tuscany area. The owners were amazing. The room was really well kept and was nice. The breakfast was perfect. We really just have nice things to say about the place. Definitely will visit again.

Fabiola and Stefan are amazing!!
I normally don't like staying at b&bs for the only fact that you have to share a bathroom but it was well worth it!! First off, we never had to wait in line for the bathroom even though it was fully booked and the breakfast they provided is so amazing!! Fabiola makes these fabulous cakes and is so wonderful that she is willing to share the recipes. Also, Stefan always made sure that we were happy and though there was a language barrier there was never any feeling of ackwardness. the location itself is so peaceful, being from San Francisco waking up to birds chirping was a wonderful change. A must stay!

Fabulous!
Our stay at Il Molendino was one of the highlights of our 2-week stay in Italy. The B & B has a wonderful old-world charm and is so beautiful and inviting. You will fall in love with the place from the moment you first see it. Our accomodations were very nice, comfortable and clean. Very good Italian breakfasts. Fabiola and Stefano were the perfect host. They were very hospitable, friendly and helpful. Fabiola was so great at giving directions. We enjoyed the grounds very much also. The surroundings include a lovely flowing brook, beautiful fauna, olive trees and and old monastery at the top of the hill (enjoyable stroll up that included beautiful wild horses).. I would definitely return for another visit and hope that I have an opportunity to do so. Highly recommemded. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give it a 12.

Simple the best!
My boyfriend and I spent 4 incredible nights at Il Molendino! From the moment we arrived, Fabiola, Stefano, and Igor went above and beyond in making us feel welcome - picking us up when we got lost, offering us fresh pastries and coffee upon our arrival, and offering to cook us dinner. And what we thought would be a "simple" dinner turned into one of the best meals we had during our whole stay in Italy. We enjoyed it so much that we asked Fabiola to cook us our final meal the night before we left and not surprising, she completely out did herself. The room was gorgeous - nicely decorated, clean, hot shower and with all the amenities one would need for a stay in the Tuscan country side. The breakfasts were also incredible - fresh meats, cheese, pastries, fruit salad (my favourite!), fresh cakes made daily and coffee, teas, and/or cappuccino to order. Stefano and Igor were also very accommodating of the fact that we didn't have a car and required a lot of help getting around - it was also on one of those car rides that we go to meet his adorable daughter Kiera! Never in our lives have we experienced such incredible service. We had so many wonderful memories at Il Molendino and hope to some day return. If you're going to Tuscany then there is no better place to stay then Il Molendino! 5+++ Stars!

Vi hade en fantastisk upplevelse med ett underbart boende o härlig frukost. Hyfsat nära till havet för sol och bad. Dåligt med restauranger i närhet av boendet men inte långt fr Pisa så helt ok

Netter Aufenthalt!
Nette Gastgeber, Haus mit Charme und großem Garten. Gute Ausflugsmöglichkeiten nach Lucca und Pisa und schöne Wege zum spazieren gehen rund ums Haus ! Ein toller Tip vom Gastgeber zum nahegelegenen Restaurant ( Trattoris di montemagno) der 2. Tip war leider ein totaler Reinfall und nicht zu empfehlen ( trattoria da Ginotto)

Het was onze 1e ervaring met een B&B.....en deze was fantastisch te noemen. Wij verbleven in de suite en dit was precies zoals op de foto's...Prachtig dus!! Ook de eigenaren waren zeer vriendelijk en haar zelf gebakken broodjes en taartjes waren heerlijk!! Een bakker is er niks bij. Kortom een grote aanrader als uitval basis naar Lucca en Pisa en eventuele andere toscaanse plaatsen.

Rummet var rent och trevligt inrett. Badrummet var i korridoret med ett annat rum. Men det var inget då vi fick ha badrummet för oss själva. B&B låg mycket avskilt, vilket gjorde att det var tyst och man fick en bra natts sömn. Det var gångavstånd till byn. Vi åt på en lokal restaurang med god mat till mycket förmånligt pris. Frukosten var smaklig, kanske lite fattig med Skandinaviska mått mätt, men det serverades nybakade bakelser och färska frukter. Stället drevs av ett par, som var jätte trevliga och gästvänliga. Rekommenderas för personer och familjer, som vill ha något lite pittoreskt och lugnt med en familjär känsla. Personer med rörelsehinder ska ej överväga detta ställe.

Familiäres Hotel an ruhiger Lage in Stadtnähe
Sehr gemütliches Hotel mit sehr Italienischem Flair. Das Hotel befindet sich in einer sehr ruhigen Gegend, ca 25 Autominuten von Pisa entfernt. Das Ehepaar welches die Zimmer anbietet ist sehr freundlich und Hilfsbereit. Das im Preis inbegriffene Morgenessen ist gut gehalten. Auf Wunsch kann mann fast alles haben.

Ambiente familiare
Sono stato nell'appartamento: un bell'ambiente con salottino, area pranzo con cucina dotata di tutti gli elettrodomestici. Nell'ampio soppalco il letto matrimoniale. In più c'è una camera separata con 2 letti singoli e armadio, un bagno con doccia, ed una bellissima veranda di pertinenza dell'appartamento. Il tutto fa parte di un vecchio mulino, abbastanza vicino al centro di Calci ma immerso nel verde e nella tranquillità. L'ambiente è familiare, i proprietari ci hanno accolto con calore e ci hanno fatto sentire a nostro agio. Consigliato!

Abbiamo cercato un posto della Toscana, un po' meno affollato, ma altrettanto affascinante e ricco di storia e arte. Qui i castagni e gli ulivi fanno da padroni. Alloggio si trova in una zona immersa nel verde, quindi ideale chi cerca un po' di pace e silenzio. L'appartamento era pulito, accogliente, arredato con gusto. Stefano e Fabiola erano gentilissimi e sempre a nostra disposizione: dall'indicarci dove trovare la tipica cucina toscana, cosa vedere nelle vicinanze, dove acquistare un buon olio, loro "oro verde". Eravamo vicinissimi alla Certosa di Pisa che al suo interno ospita anche Il Museo di Storia Naturale che è tra l'altro uno tra i più antichi musei del mondo. Non potendo visitare però anche il resto della Certosa, non ci rimane che tornare, per poter ammirare anche le bellezze del suo museo storico e artistico. Ma torneremo anche per tanti altri motivi: per scoprire ancora questa parte della Toscana meno conosciuta, con le sue pievi romaniche, conventi ed eremi, i piccoli borghi dove ancora regna il silenzio e dove il tempo sembra essersi fermato... Forse torneremo di nuovo anche per poter scambiare ancora qualche parola con sig. Stefano Giannantonio, incontrato a Marina di Pisa col suo cavalletto, che dipinge ancora con la stessa passione, da 25anni i paesaggi di queste bellissime terre. Dimenticavamo, nel borgo Bientina, potrete acquistare il cioccolato artigianale TRINCI, il più buono che abbiamo mai potuto assaggiare, ma questa è un'altra storia...

Für alle, die das Aussergewöhnliche lieben, fernab vom Massentourismus. Wunderschöner Familienbetrieb in ländlicher Idylle gelegen. Liebevoll eingerichtete Zimmer. Sehr freundlicher Empfang und super Betreuung. Das hausgemachte Frühstück war köstlich. Alles in allem ein perfekter Aufenthalt.

Romantische Pension mitten in der Toskana
Wir waren 4 Nächte im Hotel Il Molendino und sind total begeistert. Das Hotel ist perfekt gelegen um die Toskana zu erkunden. Die Zimmer sind sehr ruhig, sauber und liebevoll ausgestattet. Die Besitzer sind unglaublich bemüht und zaubern jeden Morgen ein Frühstück, welches seinesgleichen sucht. Man bekommt zu jeder Zeit wertvolle Tipps zu Ausflügen und Restaurants.

We were on a family vacation. We stayed for 4 nights and we just loved staying there. It was quiet and the couple was very nice and helpful. It's old but lovely and what we expected from an old house with a big garden/field. We had a nice breakfast with homemade cake and the best cheese and ham. A car is necessary in order to get there.

Helt fantastiskt boende i underbar miljö. Det gästvänliga värdparet skämde bort oss med allt från hembakad kaka till massor av tips på restauranger som vi aldrig hittat själva. Vi valde att bo i sviten och den var stor, luftig och underbart inredd. Jag har bott på massor av hotell men tror faktiskt inte att jag bott så mysigt någon gång innan. Jag vet redan nu att jag kommer tillbaka...

Endroit charmant hors des sentiers battus pour ceux qui aiment voyager autrement, les hôtes sont très attentifs, le petit déjeuner complet, très bonne literie, le cadre magnifique, Je recommande le restaurant dans la montagne au milieu des oliviers, une cuisine locale simple pour ceux qui aiment l'authenticité.

Un accueil de très grande qualité. Des chambres impeccables et un petit déjeuner délicieux. Une adresse à recommander pour qui veut visiter Pise, avec un rapport Qualité/Prix irréprochable. Les conseils du patron nous ont de surcroît permis de faire un merveilleux diner dans une trattoria voisine.

Bästa boendet i Toscana
Vi reste runt i Toscana under en veckas tid och bodde de två första nätterna på Molendino utanför Pisa. Detta var så bra att vi bokade ytterligare nätter där. Värdparet är mycket välkomnande och generösa vilket gör att man känner sig som hemma direkt. Rummen är väl tilltagna och smakfullt inredda i lantlig men modern stil. Sviten rekommenderas framförallt. Frukosten som serveras är mycket bra och på kvällen hjälper värdparet gärna till med att boka bord på lokala restauranger som hade varit svårfunna på egen hand. Allt som allt ett supertrevligt boende dit vi gärna återvänder!

Ett litet smultronställe!
Fantastiskt trevligt och hjälpsamt värdpar som gör allt för att vistelsen ska bli så bra som möjligt. Vackra rum och en härlig frukost med färska fikon. Vi fick hjälp med att boka superhärliga restauranger i hotellets närhet. Allt gott om Il Molendino.

Indbegrebet af italiens romantik!
Min kæreste og jeg var på tur rundt i norditalien, og faldt over denne lille perle på nettet. Ved ankomst til stedet tog de gæstfrie værter imod os med åbne arme, og slap ikke det familiære greb før vi forlod stedet et par dage efter. Vi fik dejlig morgenmad, og en skøn 3-retters middag med tilhørende vin til en meget overkommelig pris. Stedet er perfekt til alle med hang til nærvær og italiensk charme!!

dicht bij Pisa en Lucca
Het verblijf in il Molendino was heerlijk. Zeer gastvrije ontvangst, mooie ruime verzorgde kamer met zelfs bloemen op de kamer. Heerlijk uitgebreid ontbijt. Het heeft een prachtige tuin (olijfboomgaard) met hangmatten. Het is een goede uitvalsbasis voor Pisa en Lucca.
