Safe, clean hotel. No elevators. Minimal places to hang clothes or unpack. Good breakfast buffet. Helpful staff. We were able to use pool facilities at sister hotel, although not advertised. Would stay again. Lots of families, so not so quiet though.

This is a lovely little gem tucked away in Santa Elena. Great for families, couples and large groups. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant is fantastic. Lots of outdoor seating and garden areas to relax. Would recommend and hope to return.

The hot shower was amazing! The toiletries were great and locally obtained. I loved that they are eco friendly. Food in restaurant was amazing. We would go back when we are in Monteverde again. Thanks

Great place to stay while visiting the area. The room was quite comfortable, the breakfast on site in the hotel's own restaurant was great, and there was a great second choice restaurant just across the street. We ended up eating there twice and the food was great with great prices. The hotel is convenient to everything but just far enough away from the noise of the downtown to relax and enjoy your visit. I would definitely stay there again.

Check in process was almost 2 hours later after arriving because they gave the room we booked to someone else. They were expecting 3 grown men sleeping in just one king size bed even thought we book one queen bed and 2 twin beds.

Monteverde Country Lodge was an excellent choice for our visit to the Santa Elena area. The on-site restaurant served delicious food and had nice happy hour specials. We enjoyed multiple meals there. Location is close to all major sites/activities. Property had gardens with fountains and sitting areas to enjoy after each day's activities. Staff provided excellent customer service. Would definitely stay here again.

Amazing First Day at Monteverde
We had an overall good experience at this hotel. The breakfast was especially great! Spotting an armarillo crossing road was a plus.

Uncomfortable mattresses. Zero exhaust fans , no fans...so if you have wet clothes it's gonna stink up the room. Rooms look nice. Front desk staff could use a bit more of the Pura vida niceness. Wait staff in the restaurant was good. Food was decent.

Nice hotel with a restaurant on premises. The rooms were clean and the facilities well kept. We reached the hotel a little late for one of the tours and the hotel staff helped take care of our luggage so we could head out for the tour. The restaurant staff also managed to accommodate our dietary restrictions even though some options were not on the menu. MonteVerde is colder and has higher humidity and as the rooms don't have AC it can be hard to keep clothes or bathrooms dry.

Check in was perfect! Jennifer was super friendly and checked us in quickly. She walked us to our room and made sure everything was ok. She even offered us her space heater! We had a quick nightcap in the bar and the gal in there was so friendly and gave us some great information about the area. Should have gotten her name! She was so nice! I already wish we were staying longer!

Centric and nice place. Clean and with all necessary things needed to spend your night. Peaceful and pretty close to Monteverde’s center. Cons: 1. when we arrived we asked if we could park in front of the reception area, indicated that we could park there. Went to dinner when back five parking in that area were reserved for a bus living us with no parking. After a strong conversation with the person in the front desk we finally got a spot to park. 2. We left our clothes for a laundry services. Next day we picked up our clothes. Some clothes pieces were missing. Went to the front desk and the person there had the rest of our clothes. He did not called our room to notify that they have it. It wasn’t until we went to asked that he admit having it. If it wasn’t for these two incidents I would recommend the place. Sadly the guy at the front desk almost ruin our nice experience. Other than that, it is a nice place and the rest of the employees were very helpful and friendly.

About the parking, it's important to acknowledge we own 3 different parking lots from which you can choose according to your preference or room location. And about your laundry situation, we had two bags with your clothes, but misslabed one of them, that's why we didn't give it to you when you picked the first one. This was a total misunderstanding from our laundry department and we apologize for it. We will make sure it does not happen again, and we are happy it resolved and you got back your clean clothes. We are a family of 4 and spent 3 nights. They had all necessary amenities like shampoo conditioner, coffee and towels. The included breakfast was delicious. we also had dinner one night at the on site restaurant which was decent. Most restaurants in the area are quite pricey. Lidia and Carlos at the front desk were great with a room upgrade and activities and dining ideas. The original room we had was an old room with a view onto a wall so the upgrade made a difference. They offered us to use the pool facilities at thier sister Hotel Poco a Poco which was great. It was my husband’s birthday while we were there and they were so thoughtful to put some balloons and chocolate covered strawberries in the room. We ended up forgetting a small bag which they arranged for delivery to our hotel in San Jose.

I stayed there for 3 nights. It’s quiet and relaxing. It’s about 15 minute walk from downtown. The buffet for breakfast looks good, but the food is left open and the flies are able to get in. Unfortunately I didn’t get to try the food. Maybe perhaps if they can cover the food that way flies won’t land on the them. Staff is very friendly. The rooms are very clean and have everything you need. They clean the rooms every day. Everything was great except the breakfast buffet!

Overall a good place to stay in a great location
Overall this was a great little place in the cloud forest. It would have been nice to have slightly more secure doors and windows which would have helped with some of the noise, but overall the room was good and relatively comfortable. It would have been nice to have a small lounge area in the restaurant/bar area rather than just tables and chairs.

This is a great place! Rooms are not fancy but have good hot water and showers, decent beds, and enough blankets for chilly Monteverde nights. Breakfast was incredible! We had vegetarian Gallo Pinto, some other vegetable dish, etc. Good fuel for a hike in the cloud forest. The price was right too. The staff was friendly and attentive. You can spend a lot more but there is no need when you can just book this place.

Worst place to stay in. Washrooms were in terrible condition- shampoo and soap was expired and stinks really bad. Water from the shower was all over the bathroom floors- I had to use all my towels to dry it out.

A very nice pick for Montverde stay. Close to fabulous dining spots and remains a quiet and cozy nest for a day of travelling. Eco-friendliness of the hotel is worth mentioning.

This was a wonderful hotel!! The staff at the front desk were exceptional. Maria was so helpful. Very clean room with gorgeous well kept grounds. One of the best.

It wa sa beautiful stay. Rooms are clean and good size. Has coffee maker and hair dryer. Checking in was easy and the staff were very polite. The only negative thing i have to day os the restaurant have poor service between breakfast and dinner. There is not a dedicated server and the person there is generally no where to be seen or behind the bar making the comp drinks for those checking in. Still a great place to stay though.

Monteverde Country Lodge was a cute hotel located right outside of the downtown. The staff was friendly and the grounds were beautiful. A little old, outdated, and noisy in the early morning with the staff preparing for the day.
