“A wonderful hotel and great experience.”

The hotel was very close to the train station and the shuttle bus from the airport, and a short walk to all the attractions. Our room had a very nice view. The breakfast buffet was amazing, apparently the best in Norway. The support staff went out of their way to be helpful, including letting me use their printer when the one I was using wasn't set up properly. I would definitely stay here again, were I to ever be in Trondheim!

“Great hotel for family or business travelling”

I stayed at the Rica in July 2012 for 11 days while visiting Trondheim, Norway. I like this hotel is that it is centrally located, very clean, has a helpful staff and has a great breakfast buffet. I had read about the buffet from other travellers and it did not disappoint. They have a wide range of food from traditional Scandinavian (many varieties of salmon and cheeses) to international. They provided a raw juice bar, a coffee barista station, eggs & omelet station. The assortment of breads, fresh fruit, teas, etc was excellent. The breakfast is included in the price of your room. I stayed in a single room since I was travelling alone. Like most Scandinavian hotels, it is small: the bed, the bathroom, etc ..,but very clean, efficient and basic. There is a piano bar located in the lobby that I enjoyed. I had a burger there one night and felt it was very reasonably priced, delicious and a large portion at 165 Nor Krones. There are views of the dock and boats from the hotel. You are in walking distance to Solsiden (wharf area with restaurants, shops, etc) as well as downtown and the train station. The reception staff and everyone at the hotel was very helpful and accomodating. There is no parking at the hotel which is my only real complaint. You need to pay to park on the street, 24Krones per hour. Overnight parking is free though. The reception provided this information which was very helpful. I highly recommend this hotel for families and for business.
