“Harry Potter's Hotel”

This is a beautiful hotel and very relaxing. There are 3 separate pools, one has a beach around it. It's great being able to take the water taxi back and forth to the Universal parks. Also, you get to enter the parks before they even open and your room key acts as a flash pass - so you don't have to wait in long lines for rides.

“Would stay again with my own pillow.”

I would stay at this hotel again. The staff is friendly, the coffee in the rooms is good and there aren't a lot of little kids screaming up and down the halls and on the property. The only thing I would suggest is to bring your own pillow if you don't like big fluffy pillows.

“Great hotel with friendly staff”

Part of the hotel was under major renovations, so there was some noise and inconvenience for this, but everything else was very good. The staff was very nice and the restaurants were really good. The basic deli food was overpriced, but this was expected for a large resort. Also, the spa was nice, but defnitely overpriced for the services received compared with other major resort spas.

“Portofino Bay”

We found the hotel staff very helpful and courteous. The hotel was clean and well kept. There are plenty of dining options easy access to transportation to the other Universal hotels and to the parks.

“Wonderful Hotel”

My husband and I just returned from Loews Portofino Bay hotel after a few nights stay and we enjoyed this hotel so much that we plan on returning in the near future. We travel several times a year and have stayed at many fine hotels and resorts. The Portofino Bay is top notch, the customer service was excellent, the room spacious and beautiful, and the proximity to the parks - well, you just cannot beat it. The Universal Studios Express pass that the hotel includes was such a time saver! We may have waited 5 minutes for some of the more popular rides/attractions. Absolutely loved this place and will go back!!!

“Better than Disney (way better!!!)”

Have stayed in all of the major (and I mean all) Disney hotels over the last 10 years. The convenience of Loews Portofino and the Universal Parks far better than any of them (kids are 8 and 9 and just passed the 54 inch mark). The best part of it was the express pass linked to the hotel key. Went in June (peak times) and waited no longer than 5 mins to ride any attraction. Central location allowed us to get better food at a reasonable price only 10 mins away. Highly recommend. No complaints other than having to pay for parking, gym, fridge, ... Kids loved everything which really is the best way to rate Universal/Disney. Not my vacation but Loews made it fun for parents too.

“Italy without going”

This hotel is wonderful! The pool with the sand around it was so nice and fun for my kids. The food was very good. Try out the chef who makes your pasta to order - best I have ever had. It was great to be able to ride back and forth to the park on the boat instead of a shuttle. My only complaint was that they offered a free newspaper delivery and we only got 2 out of 7 even though we kept calling for them.

“Great Indulgence”

Hotel view is very relaxing surrounded with a lake. Hotel rooms are clean and pretty large. I recommend this hotel to anyone.

“Best Birthday Ever!!!”

I went to Orlando to celebrate my 30th birthday with friends - including one that had moved to the area. The Portofino was crazy nice: the room and the hotel property were beautiful, the staff was incredibly friendly, and the water taxis are super-convenient. Guys will love the TV speakers in the bathroom so you can listen to the "big game". We had no problems during the trip - the concierge desk was very nice when we asked them about taxis service. There are 3 pools and one of them is a little farther off which is terrific for quiet time with the sun and without children. And, if you want to hang out in the room or by the pool; there's a great restaurant in the plaza that sells fresh-made pizzas and antipasta. One pizza is enough for 2-3 people!

“Great stays”

We stayed at this hotel over Christmas and it was a great experience. The room was a little smaller than I expected and the bath tub was just regular. The overall service was quite wonderful! [One night, we were late for the late-night cookie time, but the manager was kind enough to bring tons of cookies for us.] We stayed at the club level and we really liked the quality of food that are offered throughout days[wines, homemade granola, baked goods, and etc] Also it was very convenitent to enjoy Universal Studio because we had an express pass and we used water taxi. Some people mentioned about waiting too long for water taxi, but we had no problem. Also, with the express pass, we were able to spend 4 hrs in universal studio and ride all the things in the park except 2 of them.
