Burnaby
Burnaby is a residential suburb of the cities of Vancouver and New Westminster. The city is home to Simon Fraser University and The British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). Shoppers flock to Metrotown, BC’s largest retail and entertainment complex with over 470 shops and services. Recreation facilities include Central Park, Burnaby Lake, and Deer Lake.

Downtown Vancouver sits on a peninsula bordered by Burrard Inlet, English Bay, and False Creek. Langley
Less than an hour from Vancouver, Langley is in the heart of the Lower Mainland. The pedestrian-oriented downtown area contains a shopping centre, markets, and antique stores. The city offers over 300 acres of green space and park facilities, including Langley City Park, Campbell Valley Regional Park, and Fort Langley National Historic Park, with restored 19th century buildings.
North Vancouver
North Vancouver is the mountain-backed area directly across the Burrard Inlet from downtown Vancouver. The area is a shipping and tourist center, and offers a wide variety of outdoor activities. It is home to Grouse Mountain, a year-round mountain recreation park. Visitors can access the mountain's 1,110m (3,642-feet) summit via the The SkyRide gondola, or on foot via the “Grouse Grind,” a near-vertical trail.
Surrey
Located on the US/Canada border 40 minutes from downtown Vancouver, Surrey consists of six different town centers, each with its own residential and business communities. The Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair, held each May, features an invitational top cowboy and cowgirl showcase, exhibits, and midway rides; Fraser Downs Racetrack and Casino offers horse races and gaming facilities.
Vancouver International Airport (YVR)
The Vancouver International Airport, located on Sea Island in Richmond, is 30 minutes from downtown Vancouver. Visitors can enjoy a quiet afternoon in downtown Richmond’s Minoru Park, which features ponds, gardens, and a chapel; or try their luck at River Rock Casino. Richmond is also home to The Kuan Yin Temple of the International Buddhist Society, North America’s second-largest Buddhist temple.
