Haguenau
Haguenau is situated on the edge of a large forest, about 15 kilometres from the German border and 30 kilometres north of Strasbourg. The town dates back to the 12th century and was once home to the crown jewels of the Holy Roman Empire. Monuments from Haguenau’s rich history include three gates from its medieval fortifications, and the Gothic churches Saint-Nicolas and Saint-Georges.

Obernai
Obernai is the second-most visited city in the Bas-Rhin region after Strasbourg, which lies 30 kilometres to the northeast. Situated along the Alsace wine route where the Ehn river valley opens onto a large plain, Obernai is an important centre for beer and wine production. The town is still surrounded by 30 of the original 52 towers and gates that once protected it from invaders.

Strasbourg
Strasbourg is situated by the German border, where the Ill River flows into the Rhine. The city’s historical centre is beautifully preserved and was the first city centre, in its entirety, to be designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Attractions include a sandstone Gothic Cathedral with astronomical clock and the Petite-France district, with medieval timber-frame buildings.
