Beach Cities
Gulf Boulevard runs the length of the Beach Cities, from Clearwater Beach in the north to St. Pete Beach in the south. Along this main drag, visitors can shop, dine, and sleep at a variety of lodging options. Highlights include Pier 60, where crowds watch sunsets and street performers; and the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, which rehabilitates injured sea animals such as dolphins and tortoises.

Clearwater
Clearwater is the worldwide headquarters for the Church of Scientology, which is credited for revitalizing downtown. The church is based in the Fort Harrison Hotel, a 1920s skyscraper that was once the grande dame of Clearwater lodging. Across the street, Scientology’s imposing Flag Building takes up one square block. The St. Petersburg/Clearwater International Airport lies southeast of downtown.

Clearwater North
A largely residential community, Palm Harbor’s downtown is full of charming shops, eateries, and historic buildings. It is also home to the Innisbrook Golf Resort, a nationally-regarded golf course. Tarpon Springs is Greek America at its finest. Top attractions include the Historic Sponge Exchange and Spongeorama. The shops and eateries along Dodecanese Avenue are also popular with tourists.

St. Petersburg
Many of St. Petersburg’s chief attractions are downtown, such as the Salvador Dali Museum. Jazz bars reside on Central Avenue. This major artery passes near Tropicana Field, home to the Rays, Tampa’s Major League franchise. The popular St. Pete Pier entertainment and shopping complex includes an aquarium and fishing dock. Don’t miss the 50,000 plant and flower species at the Sunken Gardens.
