We continually strive to improve on our weak areas and we will certainly address those areas we identify as being weak in the order of importance. Pros: Rooms with canal view would have been amazing. The staff were nice. View from the bar & restaurant were spectacular. Breakfast included.
Cons: Treat Expedia customers to the same room quality as those who call them direct.
I had read reviews that most rooms were renovated, but some not. I called in advance to see if we would be in a renovated room. (We made our reservations almost 3 mo ago). They said no on both of the rooms we reserved because we made the reservations on Expedia and got a discount. Not only did we get "discounted" rooms, they were on different floors. The connecting room you would have thought our travel companions would have been in had very loud people in it, loud enough that we had to turn the tv back on at 12:15am just to sleep. The walls were thin.

Pros: The staff, the beautiful views from the room and the restaurant and the quality of the food.
Cons: I would have preferred a thermostat in the room instead of a high low heat button.
Location: We walked to town, Michigan Tech and the local hockey arena.

Nice facility with a great location to be able to walk the downtown, restaurants, and breweries. Hotel service staff was very friendly and helpful. Big room with a great view over the river, and the view from the bar and restaurant was spectacular, however, some of the furnishings were somewhat dated. Very nice experience!

Cons: Ditch the old bedspreads and get duvets....
Location: Downtown Houghton, MTU, restaurants....
This hotel is located right at the east end of downtown Houghton and very close to MTU. Was fortunate to get a waterside room and view was beautiful. Breakfast was good but a little pricey. Room was near pool and smelled a little musty but not overwhelming....

Location: the location was nice there were bars and restaurants in walking distance.
our room had a terrible smell to it. the restaurant I would not recommend to anyone, lousy service.
