“Very convenient & nice”

I booked this hotel when I was planning an evening out in city centre. It was extremely convenient and we walked to the restaurant and back again. Everything we needed was in the room and it was a shame I only stayed one night. I accidentally booked smoking rooms instead of non-smoking so there was an "old smoke" smell but that's my fault. I would definitely stay again.

“A pleasant surprise”

I booked this hotel without ever having stayed at a Candlewood hotel. I was quite pleased with the overall experience.

“great conveniences”

Great experience and a superb value with the option of preparing one's own meals and the very useful "general store" on the premises. We definitely would consider staying there again on future visits (and in other Candlewood Suites hotels).

“It was OK....super nice staff......”

The staff was - to a person - very helpful and nice. The actual physical condition of the hotel, well, frankly its getting run down. It was clean, but very "used" (if that makes sense). I probably would not have stayed there were it not next to the building I needed to be at for several days. There are some good restaurants within walking distance - at all price ranges.

“Great - But for the Second Hand Smoke”

Overall, I enjoyed my visit. However, I requested a non-smoking room and during the night I could smell second hand smoke in the air. This may have been people smoking in the hallway outside the room or a neighboring room. Whatever the source, my throat and eyes were irritated by the experience. It is sad that you cannot go anywhere in TX without being assaulted by second hand smoke and a lecture on the right of smokers to put cancer causing agents into the air one must breath. People were also allowed to smoke outside the entry into the lobby area. If you had an operation done and are staying there, this is very unpleasant exposure to air that may complicate your healing process.

“Stay away at all costs”

had a reservation for over a week - stuck me in a smoking room and told me that it was the least offensive smoking room in the building - they had opened the windows and sprayed ait freshener
