Dirty & broken hot tub. Even hallways stunk

Great hotel

The hotel has good bang for your buck. The customer service was fantastic, the place was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was adequate but not amazing. Overall, a great hotel. We would gladly stay there again if we were in the area.

Hotel handy for visiting family

Pros: The breakfast facilities were good with plenty of choice.
Cons: The hotel needs plenty of love and care URGENTLY. Stairs handrail loose and dangerous.
Location: Busy location, plenty of restaurants and shops.
Very difficult to locate this hotel as it is set back from the main road and behind other premises. They had a temporary sign but too small to see easily. Staff were not very helpful as my wife & I were tired after a 3 hour flight then a 50 minute drive. The room was clean and spacious BUT the bathroom was awful. The floor tiles had not been laid straight. Holes in the bottom of two of the walls because no base board. Shower drain hole kept closing causing the bath to fill with water. Reported our disgust to reception who said they would tell management.

Homeless Sleeping Nearby

The hotel looks updated on the inside and the decor is nice. My room was not as clean as I would have hoped. There were stains on the bed and long hairs in the tub and sink. It is located behind a Salvation Army location and a closed down Chinese restaurant, and not directly on 1960 as the address would suggest. There were old mattresses out in front of the closed down Chinese place where I saw homeless people sleeping on more than one occasion. It was apparent that there had been homeless people camping out here for some time. I will probably stay elsewhere next time I am in Houston for business.
