“A Couple Quirks...”

During my recent stay with the Courtyard, Marriott, Houston Hobby Airport, I experienced a couple quirks. First, I returned to the hotel late one night and my key card didn't work. I pressed the buzzer and no one answered. I finally got in when another guest was coming out, approximately 10 minutes later. No one was at the front desk, since it was late, I didn't wait to speak with someone. The next afternoon my Mom needed to go back to the room, once again the key card didn't work for opening the gate or the room. I spoke with the manager at the front desk, she apologized and corrected the issue immediately. She also explained that maintenance was there working on the system. I would recommend this hotel...as long as the key card system is working properly. It was a huge inconvinence.

“Typical sleeping room”

Snack center that is advertised is actually a couple of vending machines with some sandwiches. Geared toward an overnight or weekend traveler. Good sleeping room.

“Houston trip”

They were under major construction/face lift and it was hard to get anywhere but the staff was helpful and nice. Rooms were in good shape except my air conditioning did not work in my first room so I moved with no hassles.

“Dirty sheets!”

Did notice after waking up the next morning that the sheets were a bit stained. Kind of freaked me out.

“Not impressed just OK for the price”

This hotel was just OK for the price. We had to pay for our continental breakfast so that was a little shocking. It was very unclear as to what was a free continental breakfast. We have been to many other hotels and have never had to pay for breakfast. I have no problem leaving a nice tip for a great continental breakfast! My breakfast was scrambled eggs, toast, sausage and coffee. Not much for what we paid. Denny's would have bee cheaper! Next time I go to Houston to stay we will stay at the Marriott's hotel 1 block away.

“Nice Lobby and outside appearance but dissapointed with Room”

Overall, we got what we paid for as the story goes. I booked one night and chose this hotel because of my perception of Marriott Hotels and its location was close to the airport. The lobby was nice and they had an area for their complimentary breakfast which appeared to have a lot of options such as eggs, sausage and a variety of other breakfast items and good seating. When we got to our room I was dissappointed the furntiure was old and the entire room appeared dated. There was a small sofa in our room like it had been around the block and then some. The king bed was unusually low and when you sat or layed down it sunk in slightly. My husband woke up the next day with a sore back from the lack of support in the mattress. I am assuming it was an old mattress. Overall we just needed a place to sleep and thats what we got but if I would have seen the quality of the room I would not have booked it and would have gladly paid more to get a room that was updated and at least had a good mattress.

“VOID -other locations available”

Arrival was awkward didn't feel 'welcome'... felt more like an inconvenience, a smile goes a long way is all.

“Mixed review”

We stayed at this hotel to attend a Retiree's lunch (at another location close by). The hotel itself was quite difficult to get into; i.e., apparently because of the location-?bad part of town??-you had to ring a buzzer/bell to gain entry - sometimes, you had to ring/buzz several times. Frankly if this is the system they want to use, they should have someone available 24/7.
