Decent hotel, close to airport

Posted Mar 15, 2014
Pros: Location, friendly staff
Cons: See above
Location: Nothing to do nearby except catch an airplane, which I did.
I had trouble sleeping because of the extreme dry air in the room and the low quality of the bed. It was impossible to open the windows because of the loud freeway noise outside. Considering the advertising Courtyard does about the quality of the beds, I was surprised to find this bed sagged and did not provide much support. For the price, I also found the sink area very small and constricting.

Tom, first, thanks so much for taking the time to leave your feedback. We sincerely appreciate the opportunity to learn what we're doing right--or in this case wrong--so we can serve you better in the future. I am sorry to read that the bed and humidity in your guestroom were unsatisfactory. All of our guestroom A/C units include a dehumidifier, which can be turned offf for those guests who are comfortable with the extreme humidity of the Houston area. Also, while I cannot fix your lost night of sleep, I would love to hear back from you so that I might follow up on your comments about the bed. Despite our best efforts to maintain quality standards throughout the property, an item that should be retired and replaced can, infrequently, escape our attention, so we listen very carefully to comments such as yours. Thanks again for your feedback, and please accept my abject apologies for any inconvenience you experienced. Please don't hesitate to contact me in the future if you have any further comments or concerns. Sincerely, Alberto Hernandez General Manager

Perfect for me!

Pros: Once you arrive, you can relax.
Cons: Signage from highway to know where to exit.
After a 2 hour drive traffic Jam in Houston, the last thing I wanted to do was get out in traffic again. Very nice to arrive and find a nice little cafe with a good selection of food items and beer! Was able to relax in my clean room and enjoy a good evening.

Alarm and less than apologetic

Posted Feb 17, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff.
Cons: Lotion and shower gel in rooms. Just get rid of the alarm clocks! No one uses them, and if they do they should be available on request.
Location: Unfortunately, not a lot to do nearby. The advantage of this hotel is its close to the airport, but that also means it's not close to anything else.
The place was nice, the staff were sweet, but the attention to detail was lacking. They even let us check in at 11 am without question or issue. However, sometimes a place has to be judged by what happens when things go wrong. The alarm clock in the room adjacent to us went off at 5 am, clearly there was no one in the room. My husband slept through it, but I did not. I finally got up around 5:20, haven given up, and informed the staff. They agreed to fix it quickly but that was it… no apology, no offer for free breakfast even though I was woken up 2 hours before I wanted to, nada. Because I didn't throw a stink, they apparently thought they had gotten out of an angry customer situation scott free. But it left me feeling disappointed, upset that they didn't empathize at all with my situation, and taken for granted.

The hotel staff were friendly, location was convenient for an early morning flight. We enjoyed the convenience of the on site bistro as well.
