Expected more for the price, but really nice!Posted Jul 20, 2014
Very nice hotel and great location, but would have at least liked a small fridge in the room for that price.. I still highly recommend it!

Cons: AC power hallway smelled a little
Stayed for just one night. My only complaint is it got really warm around 6 because the sun was hitting the window. even with the black out shades closed and the AC as low as we could get it, it was still rather warm. The overnight parking seemed a little high too in my opinion. Location was good and the hotel was in good condition.

Tired hotelPosted Jul 7, 2014
Too much to list. Stay somewhere else if you have chance. Dirty room. Tip grabbing staff. No self parking. Place is in need of an update

Double tree downtownPosted Jun 30, 2014
Rooms were clean and beds were very comfy. Staff was very nice. My only negatives are minor. You must valet park and the shower heads suck. Other than that everything was pleasant

Bussines hotelPosted Jun 29, 2014
Pros: It is really close to hobby center and if you are not in the mood of walking they will drive you and pick you up too.
Location: Hobby center, aquarium, court room.
This is a business hotel, ideal for meetings, not for a family, or kids the valet parking is a little overprice and the food is not that good for the price you paid.

Nice hotel- not convenient at allPosted Jun 22, 2014
I was attending the Gabriel Iglesias (Fluffy) comedy tour held at the Toyota Center. I chose Double Tree because it was decently close. The website said there was park your self or valet parking but when we got there it was valet only which was automatic extra charge to my stay. The hotel itself was very nice. When we got to our room it was a lot smaller than I thought for the amount I was paying. The bed was ok, but have had way better in lower price hotels/suites. And for the price I was paying it did not even include a continental breakfast. The area where the hotel is not very convenient and no restaurants near. Needless to say I won't be staying at this location ever again.

The staff was great, the room was clean, the beds were comfortable, the rate was reasonable, and I would definitely stay there again.

Downtown Convenience with a Friendly AttitudePosted May 5, 2014
Pros: It had a family feel to it while providing amenities that only a fairly large hotel could offer.
Cons: The room might have contained a few more and somewhat bigger waste baskets.
Location: You are very close to museums, theaters and concert halls, to the Astros ballpark, and to a great multiplex cinema, the Sundance. Lots of fine dining!
I come to Houston four or five times a year, most often to attend performances in the downtown theater district. The Doubletree Downtown is conveniently located, provides a shuttle service that takes in most venues I need to get to, and provides a standard of comfort that an elderly person with some mobility issues can enjoy, all this at a price that doesn't empty the wallet of a retiree on a fixed income. On past stays I've had to call in engineering to fix plumbing issues, and they've always arrived promptly with what it takes to solve the problem. This stay everything worked well, so I can't report on the current promptness and efficiency of the staff. Housekeeping was unobtrusive but met my needs, and the staff at various other points of contact--the restaurant, the lobby bar, the news-stand--are by now people I'm pretty much on a first name basis with. The hotel does a brisk business in wedding receptions and frequently hosts mobs of sports in town for playoffs and the like, and while that keeps it noisy and lively, I can't say that the other guests have ever kept me awake at night, and so far no one has complained about the sound made by my TV late at night (I don't have TV at home, so any hotel stay is an opportunity to play catch-up).

Very good experience. Just a all around pleasant experience. That's how I felt.
