“Nice size - good location”
Enjoyed staying at this hotel very much. The hotel was very nice and pet friendly (very important to us). The hotel is actually more like a small 1 BR apartment. There was a small separate kitchen, a living room, a bedroom, and a bathroom off of the bedroom. The bed was very large and very comfortable. There was a TV in both the living room and the bedroom - both flatscreen. There was also a pull out sofa that we did not use. The staff were very friendly - both the reception and the bellhops. The location is right by the HUGE shopping center and near some sites to see (the Water Wall thing was cool). The kitchen was a full kitchen - they even had bowls, plates, silverware, etc. It would be a good place to stay if you were going to be there for a week or so. We were just there for three nights so we didn't cook, but it would have been easy to. There was also a dining area outside of the kitchen and off of the living room space. I would recommend and stay here again.
“Perfect Houston Location”
We stayed there for Thanksgiving holiday and loved the hotel especially the cookies. Great location and convenient to most any location/attraction in Houston. My one small complaint is the size of the bathroom was very small especially for a Hilton hotel. I would have expected more. Other than that, we were totally satisfied with the hotel. Great location.
“Nice Quality For $$$”
The suite is really nice for the price!
“I travel frequently. Stay here often and recommend it.”
Great staff. Great beds. Dark rooms...I stay at Doubletree, Houston at least twice a month. Love it!
“Room for improvement”
The hotel is in a great area of Houston and some of the staff are quite helpful when guests have questions/issues. The suites are large, and the rooms are equipped with flat screen televisions. However, the room and hotel decor are outdated and need to be remodeled relatively soon, particularly the kitchens. Also, there are hidden costs ($18/night for parking) -- this charge needs to be mentioned at check-in instead of after the fact when checking-out. Finally, on the Saturday night of my stay, the room below me was having a huge party. I called the front desk to to ask if they could intervene yet the loud party continued until about 4:30 in the morning. I talked with the front desk again later in the morning to make sure the guests below would not be returning for an additional night. at this time, i talked with a different hotel employee who was extremely nice, and they assured me that the loud guests would be checking out that day. To compensate me for my troubles, the hotel employee gave me two complimentary breakfast tickets, which was appreciated.
“This time it was disappointing”
I have stayed at this hotel before and it's usually good. This time, no welcoming cookie. Housekeeper was lazy, would change my towels every day, even when I asked to use them again to pollute less. One day she even left my room open :( and requests to the careline took around an hour to respond.
“Great for a family”
I stayed here with my wife and three kids. it was spacious and comfortable and close to everything.
“Good deal for an uptown hotel!”
We stayed on 23rd floor (one of the the executive suites) in this hotel. We were thrilled by the view from our balcony and windows. We did book "2 queen beds in separate bedroom" but later found 1 BR only. This was a surprise but as usual Hotel folks had no idea. The location is very nice and everything is at a walking distance. We were interested in some Indian restaurants and they were there conveniently at around 3-4 miles. Hotel service was very good. We had to ask for some kitchen dishes which were delivered promptly. We also liked the freshly baked cookies..! 1 problem with our room - Those Rooms are not sound proof (because of a common door). During 1 night, there was a party going on in the adjacent suite and we could hear everything, even their dirty jokes :-) I had to call hotel reception when the loud noise and music became unbearable at around 11:30. Hotel guys did send security and asked them to shut down the music (which they did) but the talking was loud enough to disturb the sleep. I don't blame the partying folks entirely because in any party we can expect this much noise but at the same time expect hotel rooms to be sound proof. Overall it was an enjoyable stay for most of 4 nights. I would like to point out that there is a $16 parking charge per night (self parking). Don't assume that the parking is free for the guests.
“Decent, about all I can say.”
Staff was very nice and professional. Room was pretty small for being a "suite" it was not explained that you had to pay to park even if you were a guest. Had to change rooms in the middle of the night due to the guest next door but that's not the staffs fault.
“Loved the stay. The best ever ! I'm so ready to come back for an entire week.”
had the best time ever !
