Stay at your own risk! Terrible!

Posted Feb 13, 2014
Pros: Nothing!
Cons: Room cleanliness, furniture, fixtures, carpet, bed, bedding, pillows, doors, wall paint.
My wife and I were traveling. Our flight into Houston was late and we missed our connecting flight. We had to find a last-minute hotel to stay the night. We made a reservation through Expedia for a non-smoking room with two queen beds. Expedia listed the room as non-refundable. When we arrived, all they had was a smoking room with a king bed. The room door handle was broken, and the key card would not work to let us into the room. We had to have the staff open the room with a key. The wall sockets were so worn that our cell phone chargers would fall out. The room AC - heater unit was unplugged and missing a knob. When I plugged it in, it worked for a few minutes and then died. I called the front desk and they said they would fix it, but they never did anything, and we froze all night. The sheets were stained. The pillows were worn out. The walls had multiple stains and grime on them. The toilet was broken. The bathroom wall had writing and graffiti. We would have been better to stay at the airport and sleep in the terminal! This is the worst hotel we have ever stayed at!

Won't Go Back

I made reservations with Expedia, got to the motel after 2 long flights and they gave my room away by 7pm. NOT professional at all. I had a King Suite -- they gave me a room with 2 queens. I told them I paid in advance and that I had a reservation. They didn't care. Naturally, I was 1600 miles away from home, so I didn't have anyone in my corner. Sad.

The best thing about our stay was the beds. After that things go downhill. Could only get luke-warm water out of the shower which was also plumbed backwards. The room phone did not work, though advertised there was no iron in the room and no hook on the back of the bathroom door. Price seemed good until I received the bill and had a third again in fees to a room rate advertised at Hotel.com which seemed reasonable at first . Certainly did not feel we received a bargain at all and will be hesitant to book through this site again. In the future I do not think I will book with Econo-Lodge.

Couldn't be happier with our stay. We were there for an interview with Continental. The hotel shuttle picked us up from the airport not 20 minutes after we called them. Got to the hotel, no problem with check-in. Friendly staff! Room exactly as described. Not the Ritz, but clean and comfy. TV had 30 channels or so which was plenty for 3 nights. Overall, very quiet, minus the occasional plane going into the airport. On the morning of the interview, the hotel shuttle ran my significant other back and forth not once but TWICE to the training center. No added cost. We even ran out of cash and thusly ran out of tipping singles. They still were nice and friendly and understood our financial situation. Pool was smaller, but still a pool. Gated in so it was only hotel patrons. TONS of stuff to walk to. It is a pretty main area once you get about a block away, but just follow the crosswalks and you can get to 20+ different restaurant, a mall, and really anything else you need in under 15 minutes on foot. Really good location if you don't have transportation. There is a Kroger and a Walgreens one block away, takes 3 minutes to get there at a slow, leisurely pace! Overall, great value, great location, great hotel. Don't pass this one up if you see it for a good price. I didn't and it was exactly what I had hoped for!

Our interaction was with Billy. He seemed to be the acting manager and go-to guy and he was great. The owners live on the premisis, but we did not see them. They are part of the Patel family. We ate at Pappas Seafood. The food, service, overall quality were TERRIFIC. Lots of things were within walking distance of the hotel.

Our door would not open with the card/requested it to be fixed and they hotel personell never did it. We had to ask the desk clerk to open it everytime we wanted to go out or we could not go somewhere together.
