Such a nice place!Posted Jul 17, 2014
We recently went to Houston to take our 2 grandsons to a Red Sox / Astros game. The hotel is very nice, and the staff were so considerate and helpful. I would stay there again without hesitation!

one night for concert at Toyota centerPosted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: right next door to the concert venue. we wanted to be able to walk and you couldnt get any closer than this hotel. breakfast was good
Cons: The decor was not my taste but it was cute,,,really bright. happy hour food was ok, veggies were dried out but hey it was free.
Location: went to the grove for dinner. crowded and overpriced but fun. Toyota center nice concert venue
check in was easy, happy hour that evening and free breakfast in the morning. Check out was quick and valet had my car up front very fast.

Great Downtown Houston LocationPosted Jun 16, 2014
I have nothing negative to say. Even after thinking about it...nope...still nothing negative. Very polite staff, nice clean rooms, good food. Ticked every box. We enjoyed the close proximity to discovery park, where my kids had a blast running through the fountains in the Houston heat, and where we went to watch a movie on a big screen in the evening. All in all...a very good experience at this hotel.

FYI: your room type is not guaranteed!Posted Jun 9, 2014
Pros: The pool is lovely, the room is nicely decorated and the service was good. We just did not expect to sleep in different rooms on our weekend together.
Cons: The cool barn door on the bathroom does not latch or lock. A bit uncomfortable when our guests came by.
Location: It was directly near the stadium with park nearby
Excited about our trip to the 2014 Rugby game between USA Eagles and Scotland, we booked our room far in advance requesting and booking into a double Queen with sleeper sofa. When we arrived we were told we had been " upgraded" to a a corner room with a King and sofa sleeper. We explained that we did not sleep together they said well there is a comfortable sleeper sofa. We do like to sleep in the same room! The sofa and king are not together:( Then when using the shuttle to go .09 miles to the stadium we were assured that we would have no problem getting the shuttle back.( we had two children in our party under 4) you guessed it, the shuttle never came! So we walked. It was a lovely night but after waiting an hour with 3 promises from the hotel that it would be there in 10 mins. It was frustrating. We could have walked straight away instead of waiting the hour. The hotel is lovely. These were just FYI things for you to know before you book.

Charged me the wrong amountPosted Jun 2, 2014
The only bad thing I have to say about this hotel is that they charged me $100 more than what I booked it for on expedia. After I showed them proof they refunded me the difference so make sure there is some kind of confirmation you can present at time of check in because now it will take a week for the refund to be given back to me. This was a mistake on their part

Downtown OasisPosted Jun 2, 2014
Pros: Everything. The facility is gorgeous. It's right in the middle of downtown. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are extremely clean.
Cons: Everything was perfect.
Location: Downtown Aquarium. Theater District. Discovery Green. Minute Maid Park. Toyota Center.
Our experience at the Embassy Suites was absolutely amazing from start to finish. We were a large group traveling with 20 children under the age of 9. Not once were we made to feel like we were intruding or shouldn't be there. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly at all times. The facilities are of high quality. Their hot breakfast was delicious and filling. This was an amazing experience for our small town students.

Worth every pennyPosted May 31, 2014
Cons: Security or staff presence in the hotel parking lot.
Location: Next to House of Blues, and several bars and restaurants and cafes.
We needed to get a good night's rest in Houston as we were going to drive to El Paso the next day, so we decided to splurge and stay at the Embassy Suites downtown. The location is great being next to a park with several bars and cafes within walking distance. The staff, room service, rooms, and breakfast/cocktails were all excellent. Overall the stay was worth every penny and we made great time to El Paso the next day being well rested and energized. The only downside to the stay was that we didn't know parking works through an automated ticket machine located in the middle of the parking lot, so when we arrived we were taken for $20 by a gentleman selling parking passes at the entrance to the parking lot. This was mostly our fault as we should've looked into it before arriving or asked the staff first, but still disappointing since the lot was right next to the hotel and appeared to be under the hotel's control.

Great Value for your MoneyPosted May 29, 2014
Pros: location, complimentary breakfast, snacks and alcoholic beverages
Cons: Just the valet paring rate and actually giving the client what the reservation stated I.e. we paid for a king size bed and got the queen size
Location: location is right downtown, across the street from discovery green and the convention center on the other side, very peaceful in this Memorial Day wee
We were pleased with this booking, great value for our money. The room was clean and spacious, perfect for 3 adults and a 1 yr. old baby. The furniture and decor were contemporary and I loved the bright colors. We got the breakfast included and it was worth every penny, plus we got snacks (veggies with ranch, potato wedges, spinach dip, chips and salsa/beans/humus) to go with the open bar from 5pm-7:30pm. The only thing I didn't don't like was the fact that the hotel is on a corner and had really no space for guests to park and go check in, it was like literally on the street, no covered, drive through area... Plus, the only parking is Valet parking (through the hotel) but I failed to read that :) there is an adjacent public parking for $10 per day or $20 overnight but is Not In and Out and some parking on the street with meters. $30 plus tax will give you valet (per day!) which is convenient and in and out. However the hotel should give an all stay rate rather than charging per night. There is a pool, decent size and a jacuzzi, location is right downtown, across the street from discovery green and the convention center on the other side, very peaceful in this Memorial Day weekend. We were pleased and will definitely go back again. Hope this helps you in the decision to go for this hotel.

Nice location in the concrete jungle! :)Posted May 26, 2014
Pros: Location and quality.
Cons: Lines at breakfast buffet. Took forever.
Location: Had a blast at various clubs. Pete's and H.O.B.
Everything was pleasing minus the thermostat. It would not cool below 70. However, wonderful stay.
