Great location

Pros: I liked the breakfast and location.
Cons: I had to make a couple of local calls, it would have been nice to have free local calls.
Location: Close to shopping malls, USPS, Sam's, movie theater, Wal-Mart, and Target
Overall, this was a really good choice. We were only staying in Houston for a couple of nights and wanted to be close to IAH. The airport was close by and only took 20 minutes. There was only one toll to pay, so there was no need to take the "toll pay" option from the rental car company. (We know for next time) This Hilton is situated in a very centralized location and next door to Sam's. I had to wake up early both mornings to do some homework and the lobby area provided an excellent place for peace and quiet and complimentary coffee. Although the breakfast was at a surcharge ($25.87 for two), it was well worth it considering you had a full kitchen and lots of healthy choices. The internet worked well both in the room and the lobby area. It was also nice to see both an iMac and Windows HP computer available to print out boarding passes in the lobby area.

Long wait for room and no housekeeping

Check in time is 4:00. We arrived at 3:30 and our room was not ready so we waited in the lobby. There weas a wedding and a couple of soft ball teams staying at the hotel as well. Many of these individuals came in after us to check in and where given rooms. When I questioned this after waiting over half an hour I received an apology and told that they missed flagging that I was there to check in and I would get a room shortly. Another 20 minutes passed and I watch a few others check in and receive a room right away so I went back up to the counter and they then gave me a room. The room was nice and the pool and hot tub were also nice. The next day we left our room at 10:00 am and returned at 5:30 and housekeeping had not come to clean our room. I called the front desk and they said they would send someone up. The individual came up and handed me some towels, coffee and cups and left. No one took out old towels, emptied our garbages or anything. That night the hotel allowed one of the soft ball teams to have a pizza party in the lobby, which is where the restaurant is open to the lobby so 30 or more people were in the lobby with pizza that was delivered from an outside venue making it impossible to eat in the reasturant so we took our supper up to our room.

Memorial Day Visit

Hotel was average. Which would be ok, but its a Hilton property. The Tile floors were always wet and there were wet floor signs in lobby, elevator and other parts of hotel. Dropping down a wet floor sign doesn't absolve you from responsibility if you know its wet. Room service menu was ok, started at 5pm. service charges and 22% gratuity made it expensive. Good that there are plenty of restaurants nearby. Staff nearly ignored you most of the time. No free breakfast and the one they offer is $12. Wouldn't stay again. Other options available.
