Nice Hotel in Houston

Nice hotel. Some of the staff were very friendly. Front desk could not make external calls so they were not able to help as much as other Hilton hotels.

Typical big city Hilton

Posted Mar 24, 2014
Pros: pretty lobby
Cons: noise levels, free internet, continental breakfast.
Generally, I hate Hilton Hotels because they are essentially average rooms that are overpriced. With Hilton, what you pay for is the name, the location, the lobby, etc. This particular Hilton had free parking, which is not always the case, but they do not have complimentary breakfast, internet services, or even a mini-fridge. Essentially, the room is your typical hotel room with a very nice lobby to make people feel rich, complete with shoe shine services, concierge, ball room, etc. If the room wasn't going for $69 per night, I never would have booked it. For $69, it was worth it, but only for one night. We still had the typical noisy neighbors coming in and out all hours of the night slamming doors, and for one night, I can tolerate using my phone for internet. For any longer stay, I would have chosen something else with a free breakfast and internet in exchange for a fancy lobby.

Nice hotel but nowhere close to airport!

Posted Mar 17, 2014
Pros: Comfortable rooms
Cons: Shuttle service
Location: Should not be advertised as a near airport hotel
$30 cab fare from airport; shuttle available but was told it would be 30 minutes before it would arrive to pick us up. When we were dropped off at hotel, there sat 5 shuttle buses. Restaurant food was excellent.
