Weekend getaway to the beach

Pros: The service was extremely friendly and fast.
The hotel staff was very friendly. The room was very clean. The only issue was noisy guests drinking after midnight in the pool area. Security asked the guests to leave the area very quickly after calling the front desk.

Commerce over Personality

Pros: The Galleria location is excellent, with proximity to River Oaks, easy access to downtown via memorial Parkway and of course, shopping.
Cons: It needs flair, individuality and imagination. It needs personality, because it is corporate it is boring.
Location: Museums in the Rice area, downtown sporting and cultural venues, River Oaks elegance and world-class shopping, if that's your thing.
The Hilton Post Oak is a lovely, if huge, facility but corporate to the max, devoid of individual personality or charm. The d├ęcor is predictable and almost austere. Hard to believe but there are a lot of plastic plants, if that's any indication. In a word, uninspired. A shame because with more imagination and style it could be wonderful.

Older hotel trying to stay nice

For a hotel that seems to consider itself as an upscale place it doesn't quite fit the bill. For starters, the guy at the front desk overdoes his fake French accent to the point you can't even understand half of what he's saying. The place is clean enough but the amenities and styling are a bit dated and tired. Despite being on the 10th floor the bathtub had a lot of trouble draining. The "balcony" is a slab of concrete barely deep enough to fit one skinny person on it and is bordered not by a nice ornamental railing but by a hideous dirty concrete wall. And to top it all off, they hit you with a ridiculous parking fee of $18 the morning you check out after pretending that hotel guest parking is validated.

My room had no hair drier, and this hotel doss not offer free breakfast. Parking is way too expencive. Not satisfied at all.
