Friendly staff, great room

My Husband and I stayed here since it was close to the Sam Houston Race Park for the Ziegenbock Festival 2014. The Front Desk staff was friendly, the room was clean and comfortable. The Breakfast in the morning was also very nice with a good selection of food available to eat. Overall it was a great experience and I would stay here again.

Great hotel, breakfast... Eh.

Great overall experience with the exception of breakfast. No bacon till 20 mins after our arrival, no regular coffee till 30 mins later. We were extremely dissappointed, especially since the only reason for our stay there was to enjoy the breakfast!! :(

I needed something close to the race park!

I checked in late after randomly deciding I wanted to stay at a hotel near the race park rather than drive in the following morning for a 10K race. The concierge was very friendly. I got a first floor room. Got an excellent nights sleep, and was impressed with how quiet it was on the first floor. I was not impressed by the breakfast, however. I think the eggs were powdered and the sausage was like eating cardboard. I'm sure the pastries were delicious but I was trying to make healthier options. I ended up dumping everything I had put on my plate and got breakfast elsewhere, which is a shame because the free breakfast is a big reason why I book at HI-Express in the first place.

Unpleasant Stay

We had spider webs, broken tv, and they over charged us. Tied up my money for several days. Very, very unhappy.
