“Little scary without a real sign and elevator broken all the time”

Front door had to be worked on all the time.

“not so good”

not will maintained, no visible trash however smell of the facility indicated excessive dust and water damage. Ice machines were broken on all floors. I must recognize the the staff was very helpful.

Area recommendations

Galaria area and Pearland Tx. Galaria shopping area has the greatest mall, and restaurants . Pearland Tx was a pleasant ,friendly community necessity shops and nice moderately priced hotels. I will probably try a hotel in Pearland my next trip.

Getting around

Public transportation is not an option. Rental car or taxi is the way to get around Houston.

“Old and dated”

This hotel has a new name, and the lobby is nice. But the rooms are very dated. The furnishings are old, the sheets are thin, not a place to look forward to at the end of a long day.

I needed a place to stay at a reasonable rate. But I expected hot water and ice machines that work on my floor.... The hotel is undergoing a remodel I believe and is an old Holiday INN. I had to be moved, the second night ( I moved myself) due to a smell that got worse rather than better on my floor. The staff was great but no Ice above floor 2, my bath water was luke warm. Once moved to second floor everything was fine. Breakfast buffet was great and was compted for my trouble. For economical stay location is great. I bet it will be better soon.

“Don't understand the name change”

Apparently it was a Holiday Inn until recently. Decent property but a tad overpriced. There's nothing special about it that would make the $100+ justified. And that doesn't include any kind of breakfast! If you want to wait until the breakfast bar opens at 6:30 (and I couldn't), it's about $15 is is also kind of steep for what they had.

Area recommendations

Unless you're on an expense account, I'd avoid anything close to the Galleria. It seems to make an average property think they're worth the price of a really great one.

“Staff is incompetent”

My wife got into an argument with the lady at the front desk over reporting an elevator out of order. The front desk attendant claimed that housekeeping was propping the door open on a higher floor, when in actuality the elevator was on the lobby floor and the doors wouldn't shut. This lady was dense.

Area recommendations

Galleria, which is where our son lives.
