Really great boutique hotel!

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: The location, the rooms, the bar, the bathrooms, pretty much everything.
Cons: The restaurant - Line and Lariat.
Location: Everything - it is located right in the middle of downtown Houston. Restaurants and bars are just steps away. The Astros baseball stadium.
Loved the hotel! Really fun lovely boutique hotel. Great location right in the middle of downtown Houston with several great restaurants nearby. Rooms are comfy and beautiful. Bathrooms are terrific and so 1930s. They really need to work on their restaurant Line and Lariat. Food was very subpar. Service needs a bit more training if they want to be considered five star dining. But manager was very accommodating for the mistakes made. Will definitely stay there again!

Great hotel. The bed was big,but not that comfortable. Love the bathroom and free breakfast. Parking should be cheaper for hotel guests

Icon Hotel, Houston - fantastic

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Cons: Price - we would have loved to stay there during the week as well but the hotel was twice as expensive on weekdays compared to the weekend rate.
Great! Hotel is beautiful, full of character but very modern. Staff was so friendly.

Hotel met all our expectations.

Posted Jul 6, 2014
Pros: The nostalgic feel of the hotel blended wonderfully with modern and updated decor.
Cons: Nothing. We liked everything.
Location: Theater district is nearby offering the arts at the Jones Hall or at the Wortham Theater. The Sundance theater is highly recommended too.
The hotel was in a great location. Walking distance to restaurants and bars and a short distance to our favorite Indie theater. You don't want to miss visiting the Sundance theater while you're in town. The Icon hotel was beautiful. It had the extra touches of a boutique hotel with premium bedding and classic decor. We especially enjoyed the large spa tub. Its romantic and the room was very comfortable. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Houston.

Nice hotel

Very nice hotel. King corner room was very spacious. Very tasty snacks at the bar downstairs. Only criticism A/C failed to keep the room cool and woke up very hot in the morning. We were sweaty by checkout even though we set it to 50. Also, no ice machine on our floor.

Lots of old charm but pricey

The hotel had lots of charm and a very friendly staff. They surprised us with champagne and fruit and cream for our anniversary. I thought that being a guest we could park for free but we had to pay $30 for an overnight fee. Overall it was a quiet hotel and romantic for us.

Icon, the perfect place for our visit to Houston

A wonderful stay. Love the hotel's decor, the keeping of the "bank theme" throughout. It was unique, not like any other. This aspect was truly appreciated, staying in an elegant, up-to-date "period" hotel. Its staff could not have been more helpful, from the front desk, to the valet service, to housekeeping. Highly recommend this hotel especially if you want to stay in some place "special."
