Near hospitals and schools

Posted Jan 11, 2015
I chose this hotel because it was close to Baylor College of Medicine, that I'd walk there. Turns out the hotel has a shuttle and will drive you where you need to go within two miles. This worked out well for us and for many who were visiting the neighboring hospitals. I will be staying here again.

Very nice hotel with a few little gotchas

Posted Nov 12, 2014 on Hotels.com
Stayed at the Medical Center Marriott because other hotels were either unavailable or too expensive. The price was about half what some comparable hotels were charging. The location turned out to be very convenient - walking distance to Rice University where I was attending my class reunion. The experience at the hotel was excellent with two exceptions - they charged for Wifi ($10.95 per day) in the guest rooms. While the lobby had free Wifi, it was a long elevator ride away. Also, there were very few restaurants nearby. On a Saturday morning, I went down late for breakfast and all the hotel restaurants were closed, even Starbucks! I combed the Medical Center for cafes and even those were closed. I finally found a little café serving lunch. I generally prefer to stay at a Hilton property that serves breakfast for free, but these were not available or too expensive. In addition, since the hotel was in the Medical Center, I had to pay for parking. The price was $9 per day, not $18 per day as stated on the hotel description (yay!). The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The maid who cleaned my room was especially friendly and cheerful. I would stay there again if my other choices were not available.

Great Customer Service

Posted Nov 10, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel was clean and the service was great. The employees are top notch when it comes to customer service. Every time I was in the elevator with an employee they were upbeat and talkative. They always asked how my stay was and if there was anything they could do to make it better. The only negatives I would have is that the rooms were smaller than I expected and the restaurant didn't have booster seats(had trouble finding a high chair as well) for kids. These were very minor things and I would stay their again if I needed a hotel in the same area.
