Spontaneous Trip to Houston

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Pros: Glass elevators are nice. There is an Eeinsteins Bagel Shop downstairs.
Cons: The lighting in the bathroom is very dim. It could use more lighting. Parking could not be charged to the room. Garage is a separate entity.
Location: The hotel location is centralized and you can probably drive to any destination around the Houston area without getting lost.
I have previously stayed at the Hyatt Regency on business and through an unpublished selection of hotel websites, I ended up at the same hotel without complaint. The quick weekend stay was more to relax and not do much.

Pros: Close venue to the a houston marathon. the weekend brunch that was complimentary was delicious and well served.
Location: Houston marathon
Clean, modern room, with spacious bathroom. It was a crowded weekend but I didn't have any noise issues

Thanks for choosing the Hyatt Regency Houston for your overnight stay. We are so glad you enjoyed the breakfast over Houston Marathon weekend, and you didn't have any noise issues that would interfere with the rest you needed. We hope to see you next year for the Marathon, if not sooner!

Very overpriced for the quality

Posted Jan 24, 2015
Room was dirty when I got to it, had to call the maid back to clean it. Room service order taker was rude and hasty, got my order wrong two different times and hung up on me. Beds are very very very uncomfortable!! Would not stay here again if I didn't have business that brings me to Houston and if there were any other decent hotels.

Accessible and comfortable hotel for marathon

Posted Jan 19, 2015
We enjoyed our stay. Our first room, though a non-smoking room, smelled like smoke. When we brought this to attention of the staff they changed our room immediately and were very apologetic. Also great food options with the restaurant, bar, and 24hr bakery/deli. Will definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel in downtown Houston.

Pros: Friendly, helpful staff. Concierge Service - outstanding. Having Einstein Bros Bagels in the foyer
Cons: Better sound proofing of rooms
Location: Reasonably close to the Galleria. About a 30 mins drive from the airport and about 45mins away from NASA.
Very pleasant experience. We would stay here again.

Very institutional. Lacked the high quality charm of other Hyatts I have stayed in. A bit dated but comfortable.

close to Houston attractions, train, and NRG

Posted Dec 31, 2014
Pros: Longhorn hotel, Einsteins in the lobby, the spinnaker restaurant at the top, nice fitness room, close to major attractions, rooms were insulated/quiet
Cons: lighting in the bathroom is very dim, toilet bowl was not clean or it was old, double bed mattresses seemed old and not comfortable for 2 people
Location: Downtown, walking distance to the rail, NRG stadium, Museum District, a few okay restaurants
Went for the Advocare Bowl Game. We walked to restaurants to eat at night- which was great except for being asked for money by some pretty persistent "homeless" people on our walk back to the hotel (twice in the short walk back). During the day, we visited the Museums and Aboretum. Overall, it was a fun time.

nice hotel downtown

Posted Dec 28, 2014
The staff gave us a choice to stay in the higher or lower floors which was awesome and he put us in a far corner away from families so we wouldn't have to hear children running up and down the hallway and in and out the elevators. Hotel is nice to look at. Only thing I didn't like is that we self-parked in the Hyatt regency parking garage and the guy told us it is a third party garage and it is not affiliated with the hotel so we either had to pay each time we left the garage or walked. We decided to walk.
