hotel close to college

Posted May 23, 2015
Pros: Hotel was very clean and good contenental breakfast was very good.
Cons: the blinds in room 103 to stop the lights from shinning into the room at night
Location: within 1 1/2 mile of the graduation at college of my grandson.
the only problem with the room was the bright light from the back parking light keep the room bright as the blinds did not block the pole lights at night when closed. need better blinds. very good staff and helpful comfortable beds and very good continental breakfast

OK value for price

Posted Apr 4, 2015
Pros: Clean beds and overall look was clean. Rates were affordable. Convenient location.
Cons: Bathrooms need more attention. More staffing and training to act more professional.
Location: Fast food and Chinatown restaurants; kids arcade/fun zone across highway; near Galleria
Front staff could be trained to act more professional. Also need more staffing at peak times. It took 20 minutes to check-in and for rest of the weekend, staff was not seen regularly at front desk. Complimentary breakfast was fine for value. Housekeeping needs to maintain breakfast area as trash was overflowing. Room overall was ok; beds were clean and comfortable. Could tell bathroom was undergoing renovation; corner of tub leaking & shower head was loose. Shower curtain had mold at corner but staff replaced it timely when asked. Location convenient off highway & general neighborhood appeared safe as it was located near businesses.

the bed is too small, and it looks so old. But the staff is considerate, and at least if has free internet, parking and breakfast.

Good stay

Posted Mar 4, 2015
Pros: Location & breakfast
Cons: all was good
Location: The Ethiopian Restaurant was both good and interesting for dinner. Never tried Ethiopian food before.
La Quinta hotels continue to be a reliable value. They had a good breakfast with a wide range of food, including waffles.
