Fine for a layover

Good spot close to the airport- but the free shuttle was not really reliable, I would not depend on it to pick you up or get you to the airport on time.

hotel close to airport

Posted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: The driver was wonderful
Cons: please provide decent breakfast. Get the ATM to work. Get girls at reception smiling to guests
Location: the eating place are lousy. the choice is narrow
ride to and from airport good. the driver is the best thing that happened to me. Did not like the air conditioner- it is old and inefficient. There was no breakfast to talk about. We left hungry, No eggs, no bacon, no fruits, no cheese no mushrooms.etc Not much choice of restaurants in neighborhood THe girls at reception , ok, but could be better. Not smiling

Overnight Stay

Pros: The convenience to the airport and the hotel rates.
Cons: Need more parking
Location: This location was my goal for easy access to the airport
Arrived at RedRoof Inn very late in the evening. Check in proceeded very well. at first the lobby seemed t be very noisy, but once we were settled in out room it was calm clean and comfortable. I was only there over night and left very early to catch a flight. The whole process from check in to check out went very smoothly

The hallway smelled like cats, as did the room

Posted May 8, 2014
I have been to a couple of the remodeled Red Roof Inns in Florida and had very impressed. Those experiences led me to choose the Red Roof Inn for my stay in Houston. I was disappointed in this hotel. The hallway on the ground floor smelled like cat pee and that smell permeated in to my room. Overall the room was dingy but clean. The air condition was functional, but loud. And the free wifi was best at 5:30 in the morning when no one else was using it. I could also hear everything that was going on in the halls as I tried to sleep. Overall, not a place I would write home about and I will certainly think twice about staying at the Red Roof Inn.

Comfortable one-night stAy

Very friendly staff at check in. The bed was comfortable and the shower had lots of hot water and pressure. The hotel is a bit tired but was just fine for a layover.

Layover at IAH

Posted Apr 11, 2014
Perfect place for a long layover. Lots of food options close by. Staff was great. First shuttle in the morning (5am). Everyone was told that it was first come first serve. At 4:30 guests started congregating in lobby. There was no line. The first eleven (capacity of van) people should have priority. I was furious at and embarrassed by a young woman and a middle-aged man that sauntered in at 4:55am and were the first to throw their bags in the back and take seats leaving two older women, who were the FIRST to arrive, standing helplessly on the sidewalk waiting for the next shuttle. I offered my seat but no one else did and the two old ladies opted to stay together. SHAME on everyone else on that shuttle. I am from Canada and I guarantee that sort of behavior would not have been tolerated in my country. A simple fix for this would be to designate a place to line up your luggage. Hopefully staff sees this idea!! Would for sure stay there again on next trip through Houston
