Affordable upscale hotelPosted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: The hotel was cozy even though we were in the city and the staff was very attentive.
Cons: Not the fault really of the hotel itself but the traffic getting to the hotel was bad during rush hour.
With our Expedia Elite access we were upgraded to VIP access which meant that we got access to the Boardroom, free breakfast, free happy hour every night from 5-7 which was very good. The view from the room was overlooking the city and the hotel is close to the Galleria and lots of restaurants. Bed was comfortable.

Good quality hotelPosted Jun 4, 2014
Pros: The bed was comfortable
Cons: The charges for the business centre (Internet use and printing) are very high
Location: Located a few miles from the centre of downtown, but within a minute of the giant Galleria shopping centre. You could even walk it if you wanted!
We stayed here two nights while we visited Houston. The hotel was fine for us as a base to get around the city. The room itself was big enough and comfortable. We had access to the lounge for breakfast which was good. A decent selection of items to choose from.

Great Hotel in Houston Galleria AreaPosted May 10, 2014
Pros: Room style, decor, furniture, linens - all top notch. The views and location are great.
Very comfortable, hotel with great modern style and sundries. I will definitely stay here again! The lobby bar is comfortable, food is reasonably priced. One inconvenience is the self parking, (which should be free for guests). The nightly self parking fee is much, too high for the effort and distance between the parking garage and hotel. If the valet and self parking fees were reduced or eliminated, it would be a great competitive advantage for the hotel's guest services.

Wedding Night HotelPosted May 7, 2014
Cons: A letter was not sufficient, letting quest know of water issue in your Hotel. A phone call leaving a message to your guest giving them a verbal call.
I hated the service this Hotel gave to my husband and I on our wedding night. They had issues with water. Perhaps it was a city issue but as a guest we should have gotten a phone call to have none the issue this could have cause their guest. It was my wedding NIGHT..and i couldn't take a shower after a long day of running around in Houston. I had purchased a king size bed and got a double.

Great staff. Wonderful stay.Posted May 5, 2014
Pros: great staff
I recently stayed at the Royal Sonesta for an educational conference. The conference was in the hotel, so I made sure to book a room there too. The room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The highlight of my stay was the staff. Everyone I spoke to was super friendly. I would recommend this place to friends for sure.

No WaterPosted Apr 28, 2014
Pros: Friendly and clean
I'm sure this is a common subject for guests who stayed there on 4/26/14. We awoke to no water in the hotel. Toilets wouldn't flush, showers didn't work, brushed our teeth with $7 bottled water. We ended up leaving several hours earlier than we had planned so we could get home to clean up. Very nice hotel, the staff were very friendly. This was a very unfortunate situation that cut a long awaited overnight date with my wife short. The late night pizza, parking and drinking water were complimented. Maybe I should've asked for more, but I understand this was a city water supply issue. It definitely put a damper on a weekend that we had higher expectations for. Regards, Fred Register
