Pros: Bathrooms, chique, trendy!

Nice boutique hotel, upgraded me to a suite due to availability - unfortunately I didn't get to enjoy it.

We loved this place. Quaint. Boutique style. The valet staff is great. The courtesy shuttle was really handy. Very nice place to stay.

Quaint and eccentric!Posted Dec 15, 2014
I booked this king deluxe for a birthday stay. The staff was professional and very friendly, including the shuttle service driver...awesome! The room was quaint and eccentric, great pick for the occasion.

Fantastic hotel downtown HoustonPosted Dec 8, 2014
Very romantic hotel. I surprised my wife for our anniversary and we were both very impressed. Hotel staff was top notch and room was very nice. We even received a complimentary bottle of champagne. We will definitely go back.

Great Downtown HotelPosted Nov 28, 2014
Pros: Everyone on staff was extremely helpful, polite, and courteous. The room was perfect and I don't think I have slept in a more comfortable bed.
Cons: Nothing! Such a great place!
Location: The baseball park, aquarium, and House of Blues are all nearby. A free shuttle is available to drive guests wherever they need to go.
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We didn't stay long, but the staff and room both exceeded expectations. Should we return to Houston, we will absolutely stay again.

Perfect for our staycation!Posted Nov 26, 2014
Pros: Room, bathroom, shuttle, front desk staff
Cons: Later hours for the bar would be nice. That is one reason we didn't go. They were closing at 10p or 10:30p.
Location: Close to many unique cafes, eateries, restaurants and bars.
We loved our stay here and will definitely stay again! This was a last minute booking, like 2 hrs in advance last minute, on our friend's recommendation. The valet is a one time $30 charge for the entire stay. The front desk was very informative and helpful when we asked where the local bars were located and what they recommend. There is a complimentary shuttle available to use within a 3 mile radius which worked out perfect for us! The room was extremely nice. There was a bit of renovating going on in the hallway but this did not affect our stay. The bathroom was fantastic! Newly remodeled and beautiful with a shower (no tub) that looked like all slate with glass doors. Beware the snacks on the desk though as they charge for all but the coffee! :-) We ended up a Capt. Foxhearts for drinks which ended up being a diamond in the rough for us. You have to into a "law office" door and up the stairs to get to it. Specialty cocktails and mellow atmosphere. We did not use the hotel's bar or restaurant. Perhaps on our next stay. We highly recommend this hotel! Thank you, Sam Houston Hotel, for a wonderful stay!!

unassuming, centrally located, a refreshing experience, with courteous and efficient staff without all the traffic and the "hustle and bustle" of chain hotels. Also, environmentally concious - guests have the option of deciding how often they want their linen and towels washed. Overall, a very enjoyable experience. Only drawback, no self-parking and a $28.00 daily valet service.

Valet and check-in went easy. When we got to the room, there were dirty dishes in front of the door and were still there when we left. During check-out, front desk clerk was rude, didn't even look away from the computer or spoke to us. Overall for one night, the stay was OK.

Downtown HotelPosted Nov 15, 2014
Cons: Front counter staff and housekeeping could use some help. Leaving limited supplies (coffee cups and sugar) in the room isn't good
Location: Downtown so plenty to do
Facilities are nice. We usually have a nice stay here. The driver for the hotel car is awesome. Even went to pick us up food to go for us to have in the room. The disappointments were. 1 only one coffee cup in our room for the coffee machine?? When I requested another, the front desk said no problem. After waiting 20 minutes I went downstairs to get my own. When I asked what happened she simply said "I didn't know if you wanted a ceramic cup or paper". Really?? Could she have not called for that. Then upon getting back to the room there was no sugar. Another run downstairs. They should also put robes in the rooms. Not sure why that is lacking. The room was awesome. We booked a suite. Very nice with 2 full bathrooms.
