Nice hotel under construction.

Posted Sep 22, 2014
Pros: clean room and friendly staff
Cons: free valet parking until the construction is over.
Expedia made no mention that the hotel was under construction. The inside of the hotel was nice and clean. The problem I had was I requested a king size bed and got two doubles. The parking was about a quarter mile away and the hotel charged me $10 to park. You would think they would comp the valet to make up for the terrible parking. I will not be using Expedia again if this is the way they conduct business.

Nice hotel with awesome pool and lazy river!

Posted Sep 21, 2014
The hotel was huge! The pool and lazy river were so relaxing. It was also within a few minutes drive of the Woodlands Pavilion and waterway area.

Think twice

Posted Sep 18, 2014
Pros: Breakfast area was great, staff very helpful and custom made breakfast was very good.
Cons: There is a new addition, all guests should be booked in those rooms. Where we were should be closed or renovated.
Location: Concerts, outdoor shopping, mall and theaters are local
We booked our room well in advance but the room was awful. The linens were wet, I don't know if it was from the dampness of the room or they were just washed. The room smelled moldy, the air filter was filled with black/gray matter. The tub was chipped, ants were all over the desk by the coffee maker and the screen door leading to a patio was so bent it wouldn't open to access the patio.

Beverly, Sorry to hear your stay in our Forest Lake lodges didn't meet your expectations. Thank you for sharing feedback on ways we can improve. We offer two different room products with our Fairway Pines accommodations as the newest option. Our Forest Lake lodges will no longer be available after the end of this year. Would recommend Fairway Pines for your next stay with us so you can see all the new we have to offer! Best regards, Jasmine Avery

Resort hotel with dated rooms

Posted Sep 15, 2014
We booked the room for our anniversary, the resort side we did not use. The room was the Jr suite and based on the websites pictures and the price of 200 a night I thought it would be nice. Old desks, old lamps, chairs and tinnnnny bathrooms. The overall room experience was something I would expect for 99 a night...at most. Very disappointed that the room would be so dated. I would not recommend if you are staying for a nice room. I can't review the resort areas.

Birthday weekend for my dad- we were disappointed!

Posted Aug 29, 2014
Pros: Golf course, new pool
Cons: Rooms
My sister & I bought 2 nights at the woodlands resort for my dad for his birthday. We really wanted him to have a nice relaxing time. We were so disappointed when we saw their room. Though it had lots of space with a living room, two bathrooms and master bedroom. It was severely out dated and was at the back of the property with no view. We do understand they are under construction and have some new ones being built, but it was truly overpriced for that out dated room. I will say they did send him a nice snack plate for his birthday, we were appreciative for that. I think if his room would have been better, it would have been a lot better experience.

Under construction

Posted Aug 28, 2014
Pros: Pool was pretty. Golf course was lovely.
Cons: SIGNS
Location: N/A... in seminars all day.
The resort is lovely in the pictures but the site is undergoing some new construction. The staff is gracious to ferry you place to place in golf carts but signs to find areas located within the resort are non-existent. GPS mapping doesnt clearly lead you to the registration area and dumps you in a bi parking area (under construction) where you can't see the registration lobby. I had to ask the construction workers. After registration, you drive back down the street to drop off your luggage, then drive across the blvd to the parking area (or valet, of course), then get in a golf cart to be taken BACK to where you dropped the luggage off and walk on a temp. walkway around one bldg. to try to find a sign for your building. The restaurant is way in the back of the main building facility (take a gold cart ride) and you have to wander around in a number of halls and outside to get to it... again with really bad signs for directions. For the price I paid for the room, it was definitely not worth it! Every time I said something about needing better and more signs, staff just laughed and said, "I know!...".

Lovely Amenities, Terrible Mattresses

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: Food, many amenities - swimming, tennis, golf. Fabulous swimming area. Easy to get around a large property with on call staff-driven golf carts.
Cons: Mattresses!
Location: Woodlands Mall nearby with water taxi, shopping, restaurants. Also the Marketplace with shopping, grocery store, and picture theater. Outdoor theater.
Wonderful food and staff, fabulous swimming area with water slides for the kids. Lots of great activities; they loved it. Don't stay in the older rooms; they need to be bulldozed and the mattresses should be replaced. Hotel is under renovation, and the new areas must be nice. Stay in one of them.
