Best pool in Paknampran

Posted Aug 23, 2014
Pros: Everything - very tranquil, friendly and spotlessly clean.
Cons: More wifi in the rooms! You only get 30 mins free, which is a little hard when travelling with a teenager! Free wifi at the bar, pool and library.
Location: Very laid back area, but plenty of things nearby. Worth renting a motorbike or car for exploring.
The Evason is a great hotel - the staff are lovely and the breakfast buffet is fantastic. There is a beautiful pool very close to the beach and big enough to never feel crowded. I'd highly recommend the Evason.

Pleasant stay!

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: Breakfast, pool, bed, bathroom, etc.
Location: There is a nice cafe called Grandmother House.
We spent one night in studio room. The staffs were super friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean plus a big terrace. The bathroom was incredible! The hotel was very quiet and good for relaxing or hideaway. Overall, we had a pleasant stay there and will be back!

Great stay

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: Thia Resturaunt
Cons: Archery and bike hire great to have, would have like a small putting area as well.
Location: Not much to do nearby but we were there to relax and relax we did!
Found all staff to be friendly and helpful. Anny, Wanphen, Wi and Bo were all nice and attentive. All rooms are being renovated which is nice to see such investment although our room looked nice and traditional before the renovation and didn't feel that it needed one. The Thai restaurant served fantastic food, both fresh and tasty. General Manager - Alan had introduced himself and I always see that as a good sign and appreciated his time in having a chat with us. A little frustrating that the wifi is only free in the bar and library and only 30 minutes in your room for the duration of your stay complimentary. Other than that, would have no hesitation in returning to such a peaceful and tranquil resort.

Earth theme , eco focus resort

Posted May 22, 2014 on Hotels.com
Its a very different type of 5 star resort that we usually get from Big Brands. The focus is to enjoy while being environment friendly. Therefore, we adjusted our expectation. Rustic feel, many coconut trees, ponds with lotus flowers on a big piece of land. The buffet breakfast is very good, many variety. The swimming pool is nice. Only the road in between the resort and the beach a bit noisy with many cars passing by. There is some construction work on the public beach as well.

Pranburi used to have beautiful sandy beaches

Posted Sep 17, 2013
Pros: The classic feeling about it.
Cons: Most everything needs improvement, like the rooms could use some renovations, they could have free wifi all the time instead of just 30 minutes a day.
Location: Hua Hin is a short drive and has lots to do.
Evason has a nice classic feeling to it. It probably was a first class hotel in it's time but it seems like the renovations haven't been happening and there are many better hotels in the same price range. Also they nickel and dime you with charges for everything you do there. They only give you 30 minutes of free internet a day. This is unheard of for most of the larger chains like IHG and Marriott just to mention 2. Free 100% all the time internet should be offerred but they prefer to ask for extra money if you go over the 30 minutes. They do have a location where there is free internet all the time but it would be more convenient to have it in the room for free all the time. Then they charge to borrow a bicycle, to participate in many of the activities like the cooking classes, etc. They try to get customers to pay 1100 baht extra a day to get a second meal and some other perks. At the rates the hotel is charging this could be much less or even included with the room rate. Also this is nothing that the hotel has done but the city of Pranburi has taken away the sandy beach and put up a wall of rocks to keep the water from flooding the road. Who wants to go to a beach made of manmade piles of rocks? Next time I'll avoid Pranburi altogether and stay in Cha Am or Hua Hin.

There are plus and minuses. Lets start with positive. Hotel villas are beatiful, breakfast buffet was excellent, service was good. The bad part about horel is the location. Its isolatedly located 30km from hua hin, and hotel charges 200bht per person one way to get to hua hin. Taxi will cost 400bht. There is nothing to do in hotel, they charge for every activity including archery, renting a ball to play volleyball and bicycle. There is no beach nearby. It was absolutely boring, especially for children. Waste of money

Very relaxing stay

Posted Aug 12, 2013
Nice room and very large pool. The pool overlooks the sea (which I don't think is good for swimming in this area, but that wasn't a problem). The food in the bar is reasonably priced (for a hotel) and there is a little noodle place next to the pool that is very cheap if you just want a noodle soup. Also a small ice cream hut next to the pool. It is worth noting that the area outside the hotel is rather quiet, and it is 30 minutes from Hua Hin. You can get cabs to nearby restaurants further along the beach front. There is a taxi service right next to the hotel. Note that the hotel would rather you book a taxi from the reception and this costs more. The hotel also has bikes.

Far from night market in Hua Hin.

Cons: Complimentary wifi was only for 30 minutes, after that it was $15/ day. Beach was closed due to construction. TV was old and poor picture quality. Pros: Breakfast was good, by the pool. Staff was friendly. Room was clean, just watch for Mosquitos, and use the net they provide. Great if you want to get away from everything!
