Hubei is firmly established on the tourist trail, which means getting from A to B is simple. Make sure you leave yourself enough time to explore the incredible range of scenic and cultural wonders the region has to offer. Huangshi, 20 miles (32 kilometers) to the northwest, and Hongshan, 30 miles (48 kilometers) to the east of Huanggang are worth a visit too.
Wuhan is around 35 miles (56 kilometers) from Huanggang. This center offers a some great tourist attractions, including Tortoise Mountain TV Tower, Wuhan University and Yellow Crane Tower. Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan Museum and Wuhan Sports Center Stadium are some more visitor attractions to see for those who have more time on their hands.
Make the effort to delve deeper into Hubei by learning a little about its history. An enjoyable place to start is by visiting the area's historic old towns.
Have a go at some of the region's best winter attractions. Do as the locals do and have a go at snowboarding here. Skiing is also popular.
An excellent way to impress the locals is learning the local tongue, so while in China be sure to memorize a handful of practical Mandarin words. "Nǐ yào bú yào gēn wǒ tiàowǔ" is handy. In English, it means "Would you like todance with me?" And "Zhèiwèi xiānsheng huì qīngdān", which means "This gentleman/lady will pay for everything"
As the sun sets on your stay, pack your baggage and wish Huanggang "Zàijiàn" (farewell).
