"Central location in Shanghai"
This hotel was easy to find, as it is just steps from the metro exit for People's Park. The location is excellent for navigating the city, including the Bund, the Jing'an Temple, Yuan Garden, Xintiandi, and other sites. The hotel staff, as I've found to be common here, attempts to cater to foreign tourists without the language skills and hospitality training that some visitors might be accustomed to in a 5-Star hotel. Getting a message on site, for example, required multiple visits, phone calls, and lots of in-person confusion between me, the masseuse, the concierge, a front desk staff member, and the spa coordinator. Ordering room service required two phone calls and three repetitions of a basic order for one person, and the doormen rarely opened doors. However, the location and quality of the room made up for that. The room was spacious and clean, the wifi was consistent, and the bed quite comfortable.
