Nice Rooms, Poor Location

Stayed here for a few nights in October so I could check out the surrounding area near Huangshan. Almost none of the staff spoke English (completely understandable, considering Huangshan City isn't a big foreign tourist destination), which made checking in rather difficult, but they were patient and friendly. The hotel sits across the river from the main city so it is quiet, but isolated and nowhere near the sights in the city or easy access to taxi.

Ramada in tunxi

Good value for money and no complaints about hotel but its no where near the centre as indicated in the hotels.com web page. It's a 10 minute taxi from the centre. Beside it is a great hot spring that's worth visiting if you do stay. Also make sure you have Chinese characters and pronunciation for the hotel as with the word Ramada no one will know where it is. Tunxis old street is amazing.

Needs refurbishing

This hotel has a very nice lobby. however, once you get to the towers where the rooms are, get ready for a lot of mold! The first room we were at had a brown walls. The smell outside was clearly of mold. But interestingly enough once you walked into the bedroom there was no smell. The smell outside was so strong and walls were so brown the even though the smell was not bad inside the room, we asked to switch rooms. The hotel was very accommodating. The second room also had brown walls with mold but less than the first one and there was no smell outside. Otherwise, the staff was pleasant and helpful, spoke reasonable English and was very accommodating.

Clean & comfortable hotel

Had a small snafu checking in because of a very late late booking through hotel.com. Hotel was very service oriented in resolving the check-in and went out of their way to make up and ensured the rest of our stay exceeded our expectation. Exceptionally clean and comfortable hotel and a large breakfast which was included in our booking. A 10 rmb cab ride away from Tunxi old street. Recommended!
