Maintenance LackingPosted Dec 16, 2013
Pros: The appearance and cleaniness of the pool and its area was good. Staff tried to maintain civility even with all the issues.
Cons: Better maintenance
Location: Next to the marina. Has a private beach area available.
While the first appearance of the hotel property looks great, many issues developed during our stay. The air conditioner worked well, but it knocked out electricity on other circuits in the room initially. Cable was down until late in the evening the first night. Internet was spotty at first, and then went down for the rest of our stay. The front desk clecrk claimed it worked for other guests, but it did not work for others we checked with. The staff played rap music with foul language in english at the pool for the complete stay. It almost appeared they had no desire for guests over 40. We have stayed at this hotel in te past and had no problems other than the fact it has no elevators. It appeared from what we saw that they were cost cutting: by not employing regular maintence, deleting a free breakfast, and reducing staff.

Convenient Location. Affordable PricePosted Nov 7, 2013
It was an odd stay really, having booked with no prior knowledge. It was out of season - early November, so I felt like the only guest and almost none of the staff spoke English. Was the only gringo around. But, the price was right, it included a full breakfast, everybody was friendly and helpful. The room was plain, but did have a view of the harbour where the cruise ships come in, when one left the room They have several pools, one of which was big enough to take a decent swim in. By the pool they play loud music (quite typical of Mexico)all the time, some of it tasteless rap, some stimulating African style. There is a gated parking area, the room had a/c - it was very hot while I was there. The TV needed replacing and one might get a 3rd degree burn from the running water. Shower worked fine. I found the location quite convenient for taking day trips in any direction and it was close to La Crucecita, which is a delightful little town about five minutes away - reasonable place to eat dinner or drink coffee. Everywhere has wi-fi including the hotel. Enjoy. David

Consider the stairs...Posted Apr 5, 2013
Pros: the breakfast buffet
Cons: the stairs
Location: It was near a nice beach and near La Crucecita
The breakfast buffet, which was included in the price, was really a great surprise. It was awesome! The one thing that I would strongly consider is that this hotel does not have an elevator and climbing a ton of stairs was a real challenge. My mother is an active person but the stairs were a challenge for her after the long days at the beautiful beaches, excursions, walks to downtown La Crucecita, etc. Huatulco was definitely a great trip but I would probably choose a different hotel next time.

Good place but needs attentionPosted Aug 21, 2012 on Hotels.com
The whole experience was acceptable but what I got is not what I booked. My suite was supposed to have a balcony with a pool view but instead I got a room next to the Laundry with the view of an empty trashy lot. Did not get what I paid for.

you can get what you pay for....Posted Jun 25, 2012 on Hotels.com
The hotel was in need of maintenance but the overall look was quaint, old Mexico, palm trees, swimming pools, garden vegetation, tons of steps and no elevator. The hotel is in a very convenient location and with beautiful views right in the Santa Cruz Marina. Very Friendly Staff!! Gracias Amigos!! And the breakfast was great with fresh fruit, eggs, coffee, etc, They also have a beach club down the street that's right on the beach.. I would not consider it a 4 star resort, but my family and I enjoyed ourselves
